Avital 5105L Remote Start and Security System with 1-Way Remote

This is a great alarm. So far no issues whatsoever. I shopped around for this particular one. And this here was the best price by far!

It's a really good car alarm. But this alarm is designed for cars with an analog system. On my car, a 2018 Hyundai Elantra SE, it works partially, because the Hyundai system is digital and cannot be fully connected to this alarm.

This alarm does everything my previous $900 alarm does minus the LCD remote. The remote distance is not quite as far but still works from inside the house so I don't care. The non LCD remote igot 2 of them and don't have to worry about the $100 replacement cost. Great bang for the buck!

This is my 6th avital Alarm & auto start system. This is my go to system when I get a new car. I have it professionally installed. Never have an issue.

Spent 3 hours installing the alarm system and key fob range is disappointing, had to point the remote directly in front of the antenna for the lock/unlock feature to work and when it did work had to press the remote button several times to unlock, remote start also didn’t work so no I don’t recommend this system. Very poor range.

The item itself is solid, my problem comes from an issue where i had to search online for the actual wiring information for this online. And even worst the actual model isn’t listed but had to go to another model and examine harness to ensure it was the same. Some pins are annoying to figure out and the wording is very confusing for some of the pins and description limited. Again good product but customer support have to start thinking about diy person and not just a shop that install them regularly, they’re lucky I give them 4 for the annoyance and wasted time doing research…. Installed on a 08 Elantra, no bypass needed so please also confirm if you will need a bypass or other device or relays while at it…

This is my 3rd one I have ordered. No issues reported from either one.

This is the second Avital system I have bought and once again the system performs well. Avital provides their reliable systems at a reasonable price. I took the system to a local shop who installed it for $240. Overall, every car I buy in the future I will have one of their systems installed.

Wiring/ programming was such a bear my mechanic told me to return it and buy something else. There was no option to set this up in my vehicle without extensive programming of the unit, despite the fact that I only wanted to set up the keyless entry. Buyer beware, installation might be more expensive than you were bargaining for.
