Awesomely over engineered
I bought this to help with removing popcorn ceiling, and it made the whole process much easier. I also bought the $40 "bucket and lid" solution to try first as it was significantly cheaper. If that had worked I would have just returned this magnificent beast and saved the $200. Using the mullet, though, was much, much easier and the upgrade cost was worth it to me for how much faster I could work. The unit itself is very solidly built, definitely up for moving and banging around. The connection to the shop vac is solid as well (if you set it up correctly). I just grabbed the dust collector and dragged around the whole thing as a unit. Every detail is very well thought out, from the documentation (they give you a branded coozie, carpenters pencil, and a dollar bill attached to the registration) to all the different use cases. There are many features I will probably never use, for example I'm probably never going to mount this on my wall or in a vertical configuration. But it's nice to know I could. As a dust collector it works very well. Much better than a bucket. It maintains better suction and separate out the dust very well before it can get into the vacuum. While I did make sure it never got too full, I was able to remove 2200 SQ ft of popcorn ceiling without changing the bag in my shop vac once.

Works better than I thought possible…really!
I needed a powerful and reliable tool that would work as advertised. A tool that was easy to operate, easy to clean and relatively inexpensive. The Mullet Cyclone Dust Collector checks all of the boxes! It’s constructed of heavy duty plastic that’s beefy and sturdy. It’s designed to connect to virtually and brand and size shop vac. It comes to you mostly assembled except for measuring for using on your vacuum. You need to use a back saw, cut off saw, band saw, etc. to cut the vertical 1.5” pvc tube. Don’t worry it takes less than 10 minutes to use the supplied template to quickly measure, mark, cut and assemble! Easy peasy. I don’t do many reviews but I needed to let you know how good this collector really is. Bye it. You’re gonna love it!

Game changer!
First off I love that this is a one piece self contained unit. It’s so simple and easy. When attached to the vacuum it can be pulled around as a single unit. All the connections are a screw type clamp which hold really well. Build quality is terrific, very thick plastic on the cyclone and connectors and smooth rolling casters. The dust collection is fantastic with very little getting by to the filter. Only the very finest particles make it which isn’t a big deal. Surprisingly, it has an adequate tanks size and holds more than you’d think. The instructions and marketing are absolutely brilliant and have some light hearted humor to them. Very easy to follow and provide easy explanation. Customer service is also top notch as I sent them a message on IG explaining my particular vac and what I had to modify to make it work. They responded right away with pushing it on to the engineering team as an alternate solution. This is perfect for anyone that has a small shop space and is tired of losing suction from clogged filters. Rock solid purchase.

Pricey but works well
I could see our business having a few of these but they are expensive for what it is. I don’t regret buying though. They work incredibly well. Takes the burden off of the vacuum or dust extractor. We use Ridgid shop vacs or the IQ426Hepa dust extractor. We now run 20-40ft of hose from the extractor to the Mullet, and then use a 6-10 ft hose to the hose end or tool that we have attached. Before the mullet, we would get debris caught in the longer hose and lose suction. But now if a clog happens, it’s easy to clear the short hose. We keep an eye on the mullet and dump when needed. But the other great part is that we can go days without having to knock out a blocked filter. Prior to using the Mullet separator we could be knocking out a filter every hour. And because this separates the majority of debris (95%+ depending on how heavy the debris) we just use the IQ426Hepa dust extractor as a shop vac that has improved filtration on the back end. It will pick up anything that fits in the 2.5” hose, better than any shop vac setup we’ve used. The only changed I might make or would like to see in a future model, is a heavier base. Because we used this as stand alone closer to the hose end, meaning it’s not directly at the vacuum, it tends to tip over until it starts to fill up. I may have to attach some weight to the bottom. And the wheels could be a little bigger for those using on a rough construction site. I know all shop vacs fail on the wheels as well but for a premium product, maybe a second “pro” option could be nice.

Consistant suction power - Amazing product
I am extremely impressed with the "Mullet" high-speed cyclone dust collector. After about a week of use, I have filled it up with extremely fine dust.My shop vac has been able to maintain suction power even with continuous use for hours on end. I have it attached to both my orbital sander and angle grinder that is equipped with a 120-grit flap disk. Typically, I would have to clean out my filter every 30 minutes to an hour because the fine dust collects around the filter in my shop vac, causing a loss in suction power. However, with the Mullet, I have experienced no such issue. The suction power has remained consistent throughout my work sessions without interruptions for maintenance. Overall, the "Mullet" has exceeded my expectations. Its ability to handle fine dust without sacrificing suction power has made it an invaluable addition to my workshop. I highly recommend it to anyone in need of a reliable and efficient dust collection solution.

Amazing!
I am in the process of building a wood working shop in my garage, which includes the set up of a band saw and table saw. The first time I used my new table saw I was surprised at the amount of sawdust it produced. There was sawdust everywhere. I tried using a shop vac attached to the saw and it worked pretty well, but the shop vac filter plugged up and I almost burned up the motor. I started searching for dust collection systems and discovered it can get pretty expensive to install a system. I saw the Mullet dust separator and decided to give it a try. I built a mobile cart for my table saw. I ripped 2x4’s down to 2x3’s. I attached the Mullet system to a Craftsman 5 gallon shop vac and then attached that to my table saw. I attached a second shop vac to the dust port on the saw guard. I finished up the project by ripping several 2x4’s to build the frames for the saw cart. Where is the sawdust? Well, it all went into the Mullet, about 6” of sawdust. The Mullet did not reduce the suction of the shop vac. In fact, it might have improved the efficiency of the shop vac. The Mullet is awesome!! It took 20 minutes to fit it to my shop vac. All the parts were there, even the one dollar bill. It arrived on time, too. I’m very satisfied with the Mullet. I now have an efficient dust collection system without breaking the bank. Thank you Mullet and Amazon.
