The lids are super flimsy and cannot go in the dishwasher. Bowls are great for prepping mise en place, stay flat and don’t tip easily. They’re cheap and effective.

I returned these bowls because even after a thorough hand washing, AND a full dishwasher cycle, there was a strange black residue that came off as I dried them. It's really weird and I don't know what it is, but there's no way I would ever use these for food. The bowls nest inside each other very nicely, so they take up very little space. But the lids are flimsy and the metal is thin so I'm guessing the set wouldn't hold up for very long IF I had used them instead of returning them.

Lid split on first use. Purchased for storage but cannot use for that now.

We gave up microwaving for health reasons (haven't had one for 7 years). Had glass leftover containers with snap on lids. These that a LONG time to reheat, bulky and heavy. The stainless containers with matching snap on lids are miraculous! I bought two sets. Easy to use, pick the size, put in the food, snap on the lid...into the fridge. Time to reheat: snap off lid, place in convection oven; use the reheat setting. Fast and efficient. Cleaning? Just put in dishwasher (lids on top shelf). Even when I burned on some Chlie con Queso, it came completely clean. These stack nicely and take very little shelf space. And they are inexpensive. Finally, they cool in a minute so you can pick them up without hotpads, but the food stays warm. FIVE STARS ALL AROUND. Wish I could buy an extra set of lids, though. UPDATED Nov 2024 I Still love these, and have learned that I can reheat on our Induction hot plate. Storage AND reheat. I now have four sets of these. But the lids eventually wear out. CHEF BUDDY did himself no favors with the poor design of the lids. The quarter inch overhang (at most) would work if a half inch., maybe. The pans themselves are nicely stackable inside each other. The price for the pans alone makes them worth while as they can be used to roast or bake a lovely set of cakes in the oven or cook on top of the stove soups or stews (even more nicely with a replaceable handle, see the handle I like along with a (Silicone Splatter Screen) see it here. The real problem with this set is the lids which can be replaced with aluminum foil or plastic wrap for use to store dry foods on shelves,or refrigerator storage... I would say to look at the better qualities for this set per its price and then make a decision. RSBlain

I filled these half full of water, put the lid on and shook them vigorously. They did not leak. The lids are really thin though, and I suspect they wouldn’t hold liquid upside down for long. Which is fine, that’s not really what they’re designed for. The steel bowls are strong, and much lighter weight than the Pyrex bowls I have been using. I am anxious to see how long the lids stay tight without cracking.

I bought these because we were having an outdoor party. The metal combined with the flat bottom were perfect to help keep items cold on a bed of ice, but they are also advertised as haviing lids which are even more helpful when having an outdoor party at a park. The lids are thin, warped, and don't fit properly. Some wouldn't go on at all. Others barely went on and then would pop off. The metal is thin and not real very good quality.
