Ultrassist 16oz Glass Mortar and Pestle Bowl, Medicine Grinder and Mixer for Pharmacy or Science Lab

It’s just the size I needed. It’s easy to use and clean. I use it to crush my cat’s pills and as long as I don’t break it, it will last a very long time.

Perfect size for grinding garlic and other herbs. Smooth head makes for easy cleaning.

I like that the mortar and pestle are clear glass but the pestle is too round and makes it difficult to fully crush pills. There is also a little glass nub on the bottom of the pestle which further inhibits a smooth crush. It’s fine but I won’t buy another.

I was surprised at the size and quality of this product. It is first class.

I disliked that the product packaging was not placed inside another box. It came only in the manufacturer’s box, and so it wasn’t protected during shipment. And I now I have to wait for another one to ship. ☹️ As to the mortar and pestle that wasn’t broken when it arrived, I found that the interior base of the mortar is not rounded enough to engage the pestle properly. I got this unit for the purpose of triturating inorganic salt preparations. I don’t think it will work properly. I will likely return it and look for a different design.

Should be a "0" rating. Improper design for pulverizing medications. It is impossible to grind medication because of the interior design of this glass mortar. Ground pill "pieces" and fine powder end up in a "channel" along the inside perimeter. The pestle cannot make any contact with pill fragments or pill powder due to this design defect. It was a total waste of money and ended up in the trash.

Doesn't have that weird frosty / ground glass / glaze to it that other mortar and pestles have. Get this if you want to remove every last spec of material from what you are grinding

The mortar is quite mishapen seeming to have been left in the oven too long and unfortunately the shape inside allows powders to be missed by the pestle, along with the actual shape of the outside and top ridge to be uneven. The pestle seems to also scratch easily, or it may have had hidden scratches, as upon first use they appeared and makes it harder to get the power off of it. In any case, both of these are not really fit for purpose.

The glass of this mortar is too thin. Need to be careful when using it to avoid breaking it.

Got this for grinding pills that I'm prescribed so that I could safely volumetrically dose a fraction at a time. With other mortar and pestles I find that a lot of material sticks to the rough sides due to the material of the mortar. Glass is best for anything like this, and this product works quite well!
