This brush has transformed my hair. I now have a nightly routine of brushing my hair with this brush. It has strengthened my hair and helps maintain glossiness. Also feels like I’m pampering myself as I brush, because the natural wood handle is so pleasant to the touch. Love it- would definitely purchase again!

I have long, fine, thin hair. I only use boar-bristle brushes because they are gentle on my hair. As a result, I do not have split-ends and my hair is soft and shiny despite the fact I'm over 70 years old. This brush is a joy in that it is light weight, easy to hold in the hand, and performs beautifully like a quality boar-bristle should. The bristles are heavy/stiff enough to pickup and easily glide through the hair. I love it and would recommend it especially for those who have fine, thin hair.

For some people with thick hair, a half round is best

I tried a boar bristle brush years ago, but it was much too soft and was better suited for a baby. But THIS brush is fantastic! I have fine hair and now that I’m in my early 60’s I don’t have as much of it anymore. The bristles on this brush are such a perfect pliability that it feels like a massage on my scalp and I find myself brushing for longer. One of the best things about this brush is that I’ve noticed that after brushing, I have very few hairs to clean off of the bristles! When you are losing your hair for one reason or another, this is a welcome blessing. It’s a beautiful colored wood with a beautiful etched butterfly, feels great in my hand and I love that the bristles are secured directly into the wood. I really appreciate the quality that goes into making such a beautifully crafted hairbrush and that it makes me feel like I’m pampering my hair and scalp.

Calcutta Version: Fantastic brush! In my search for the perfect boar bristle brush, I found this early on, but opted to try a couple of the less expensive ones, as I felt guilty spending over $30 on a hairbrush. I should've just bought this brush in the 1st place! I have fine blonde hair, but lots of it, and getting boar bristles to go all the way through to my scalp was more difficult than anticipated. Definitely Not a problem with this brush! It is a bit on the stiff side, & I now wonder if I could've just went w/the Original Version (even a few $'s cheaper than the Calcutta), but I'm very pleased overall with the one I chose😆. My hair looks great, and getting better every day- extra shiny, soft, and fuller looking with added bounce. My hair just seems to be much happier than before! Brush is beautifully made- lightweight but definitely not cheap feeling, the pearwood & butterfly engraving on the back are really lovely. Don't make the same mistake I did- just Buy This Brush! You will Not regret it. My only regret is not having bought it when I first saw it & wanted it- before wasting more $ on less costly bb brushes than I ended up paying for this. In fact, I think I may just go ahead & buy an original version of this brush when I'm finished writing this review. Get yours too, before they run out! LOVE THIS BRUSH!

Really nice hair brush - well made and quite lovely actually. However, it is definitely for very fine and thin hair. My hair is short - 4" and starting to be thinner; however, this brush actually made it fly away.

This Brush makes my old boar bristle brush look sad and it was a pretty good brush, I thought great, but now I know it was just pretty good. My hair is shining and silky like satin, I feel the oils distribute along my hair evenly and I need to wash my hair far less which is great because over washing (even with the best shampoos and conditioners) strips my fine hair and leads to loads of split ends. I brush about twice a day and I have noticed my hairs health and volume just explode. the texture of the brush is perfect, it gets up against my scalp, and pulls through my med-long hair until the tips and is still soft enough to not feel scratchy or uncomfortable against the scalp. I adore this brush, I think it's beautiful and I can't wait until the next time get to use it. Paired with my sandal wood brush and my wooden combs I'm on cloud nine with my hair. Best beauty investment I've made for my hair. My hair is healthier, more manageable and beautiful and it's only been a full week of use, and the brush it lovely as well! a complete win in my book. I'd recommend it, buy it again, and am buying a few as gifts for loved ones and getting a spare just in case it gets lost or something.

This bristles on this brush are way too soft (not coarse enough) and too pliable and set too close to each other, in order to penetrate the hair, massages the scalp and thoroughly clean the hair shaft. Therefore, it only slides on the hair and renders it totally useless. Very disappointing.
