The Ring Alarm 14-Piece Kit is an excellent home security system. Setup was straightforward, and everything connected seamlessly through the app. The wireless sensors are reliable, and I love how customizable the system is—you can expand it as needed and tailor it to your home or business. The app is easy to use, alerts are instant and having the ability to monitor everything from my phone gives real peace of mind. It’s a great option for anyone wanting a smart security system without complicated installation or expensive contracts. Highly recommend for families or busy households looking for reliable, user-friendly security.

Installation was fairly simple and it seems like a pretty solid system. In addition to the 14pc kit and 6 additional door sensors I ordered a water/ freeze sensor for our crawl space. Less than a week after installing the system it alerted me to water in the crawl space from heavy rain during the night. This warning allowed me to set up a utility pump early during the rain and enabled me to avoid water damage! Everything worked out from the beginning with the exception of one of the motion sensors. It indicated it was tampered with when the system was activated. I followed the instructions and tried the system again and it worked like it should when I excluded the motion sensor. Jeff from Ring contacted me and sent me a new motion sensor. I installed it and it now works fine. This sensor is mounted in my crawl space using screws. When using screws to mount the sensor’s cover you need to make sure the screw heads are not protruding above the surface of the cover. If the screws protrude on the inside of the sensor that contains the tamper switch the switch can be damaged by the screw head while sliding the sensor into to place. I am pleased with the alarm system and plan to upgrade to a monitoring plan.

Amazing kit, easy to set up and install, peace of mind for a fraction of the price of others, love the app and how you can control everything including Ring cameras, system has backup battery and backup cellular (with subscription) so you know you will be always protected, monthly fee starts around $20 but you can use self monitoring if desired. Alexa-enabled. You can add more devices like contact sensors, motion sensors, cameras, smart lights, panic buttons and flood sensors… Highly recommended!

I was hesitant at first, it seems like a pretty involved task to set up all the sensors. There is a slight learning curve but by the time you have set up a couple of the sensors you realize it only takes a minute or two for each one. Probably ended up being really easy and quick. The system is intuitive, and each device can be given any name you want, and the settings are simple to go through. I realized early on that RING gave a lot of thought and smart engineering into their systems. The quality is top notch, and you don’t have to go hunting for batteries. Also, when you buy a system from RING all the sensors shipped with the base station are “pre-registered” with that base station making install really fast. Update: 1 week later: absolutely love the system. Accidentally set off our smoke detector (burned a pizza). The Ring listener responded within seconds, and Ring alarmed immediately. The Ring Monitoring Center literally called within 19 seconds and I was able to cancel the alarm immediately. Resetting was the simple step of pressing Disarm on my iPhone. This system is everything it says.

Easy to install. Great instructions. Got rid of our Xfinity security system and replaced it with Ring components instead. Bought this kit plus 2 other components. We also bought a third-party gizmo that uses a Ring contact sensor to determine when the garage door opens. It works like a charm, and was very cheap.

This kit covered my whole house with all my needs for windows and doors. Also the ease of install was great but the shared user part of the app needs work, as it is not user friendly, but overall a good product.

I have installed most of the 14 items of this package and everything was easy to install and worked as expected. Very sleek designed devices which will also look good in your home while hopefully protecting it. In a few months I will update the review, but so far after 2 weeks everything is working as it should. Update after 2 months: so far so good and everything works at it should, we also added a Ring Doorbell and a Floodlight camera, and they both integrate and work very well. Although motion sensors are not as responsive as some 20 years old motion sensors which we have from our previous DSC alarm system which we are still using along with the Ring one. The old ones are wired so it may be why they are more responsive, anyway they detect even minor steps from a person while the Ring sensors requires the person to take 2 to 3 steps before they detect motion.
