Simple to prepare, great for a quick meal.. I love the mix of different flavors.
I live a busy life, and sometimes finding something quick (and nutritional) is hard for me to do. I saw these Tasty Bite protein bowls, and decided to give them a try. I'm so glad I did! This set came with 6 bowls, each individually wrapped and packaged. I think these are great for a meal on-the-go, or for traveling. They also are great for a quick go-to meal, which is filling and tasty. I love the blend of the couscous, chick peas, and other beans. The vinaigrette sauce (comes in a pack as shown in my photo), is an interesting mix of flavors; the sauce pairs nicely with the beans and couscous. I love the tangy, citrus- like flavor of the vinaigrette sauce. These bowls are super easy to prepare; simply peel back the top (about half way), and then put the bown in microwave for about 60 seconds. The bowl heats up evenly, though I also make sure to let it sit for a little bit before eating. I love the ingredients of these protein bowls, and find them to be a nice blend of different kinds of flavors/textures. I feel good about eating these, as they have a lot of good attributes. The bowls are vegan, kosher, and the plastic bowl is BPA-free. I'm very pleased with these Tasty Bite Mediterranean style protein bowls; I definitely would order them again. I'd also love to try some of the other flavor choices. These are a great option, especially if you're a busy person or are on-the-go alot. I find these to be a flavorful treat, and one of my new favorites things! Very yummy!

Flavorless to Flavorful
The Tasty Bite Thai Indian Fusion is nicely proportioned for a single serving meal and very easy to prepare. The flavor was unexpectedly very mild to almost flavorless. Not sure if it has to do with the one bag for the curry. However, I was able to fix it by adding salt, pepper, Maggi sauce, chili flakes, etc. to create more flavor and heat.

EVERYTHING about this product is UNTRUE. DO NOT BUY!
Having found really great ready-to-eat rice dishes here at Amazon in the past, I was pleased to come across Tasty Bites Indian Style Chili Rice Bowl. Unlike most Rice Dishes I've had that offer 2.5 to 6 ounce servings, which have been quite ample for me, Tasty Bites boasted a 8oz serving size. Also, having "Indian Style" in the name sounded like a nice flavor to explore, so I ordered it. Upon delivery, I Immediately noticed the larger serving bowl & decided to try it out of the box. However, upon removing the plastic, I discovered that the rice inside was not firmly compressed into the bowl like EVERY other dish I've tried in this genre so far. It was as if someone took a serving spoon full of rice and emptied it here. NOT a ladle, NOT a scoop, just a casual couple of tablespoons of rice along with a plastic packet of sauce on top of it. This, allegedly, "Lentil" sauce packet was about six teaspoonfuls of cooked lentil gravy run-off along with a few "lentils" (beans?), and I DO mean just a few. LITERALLY. "Chili" had positively NOTHING to do with this dish either. There is absolutely N O added flavoring to this product at all. It's simply rice, "lentils" and water that's been cooked and packaged. That's it. Not even SALT has been added. So, EVERYTHING about this product is a lie. AND it's considerably more expensive than others like it.

Stick to the Pouches
I’ve tried to order three different varieties of these meals, three different times. The only ones I actually received were the Indian protein bowl so that’s the only one I can review and unfortunately I thought it was bland (not something I’m used to saying about anything claiming to be Indian! Where’s the spice? Any spice?! Any flavor?!) and honestly, just pretty unpleasant. I will say they are convenient, quick and easy to prepare, and I think the nutrition profile was good. It doesn’t look like much, but it is “filling” …but it is also genuinely so gross I don’t want to eat it, so convenience, nutrition, and volume don’t really matter. Especially at the price they’re asking, which yeah, fluctuates pretty widely, but even on the cheaper end, it’s not worth it. I’ve tried preparing it exactly as directed and eating it on its own, then with rice (to add something), then I tried pan frying with oil, figuring that would at least have to be better than just cooked in the microwave? And honestly, somehow it still wasn’t? I ate the last one with rice and bread (again, just to have something worth eating in the meal) and ended up just throwing most of the protein bowl away because I really don’t like it, which again, ruins the whole convenience and nutrition aspects. And I’m not someone who’s comfortable wasting food! At this point I think the only thing that could save it would be just breaking out my own sauces/herbs/spices etc, and these cost waaaaay too much for me to treat them as plain bowls of grains and legumes, although it would easy enough, since the flavor all seems to be in the packet that you mix in after cooking, and the packet is good! I like it, it’s not hot, but that’s fine, it’s got some sweetness, some acidity, salt, but there isn’t nearly enough of it, or enough flavor in it, to actually do any good when you mix it in. I deeply regret that I got the 6 pack, I still have 2 and I don’t want to eat them. Based on other stuff I’ve had from this brand, it hadn’t occurred me that I could dislike this as much as I do. All that said, I still would have liked to try some of the other varieties of these bowls. I’ve liked other Tasty Bite Indian ready meals, the ones in the pouch, but they couldn’t even get the other bowls I tried to order to me, after weeks of delays, so I’m giving up and washing my hands. I’ll be sticking to the pouches.
