Yes, I have an echo dot connected via the 3.5mm socket, the amp drives speakers in an old radiogram.

Can this play music straight from an external hard drive via the usb?? And if so, does the display show whats on the drive?

Have not tried that - Maybe if drive self powered and file structure suitable - but why would you - the SD card slot works very well…

Can you disconnect the radio? When you move from line in to Bluetooth it passes through radio and you get a blast of white noise.

Turn the volume down before you switch modes would be my solution

Can i connect my jpl speakers to this amp?

Not sure what jpl speakers are but you can hard wire any speakers as usual to the amp with + and - twin speaker cable.
