Incredibly Lightweight and Easy to Control—An Excellent Reciprocating Saw for Bosch's 12V Platform
I have been gradually building Bosch's 12V tool lineup, and this is now the fifth tool in my collection. As a DIY enthusiast, I was looking for a compact, lightweight reciprocating saw for home repairs, yard work, and general projects around the house. I don't use tools professionally, so portability and ease of use are just as important to me as cutting power. Before buying this saw, I was using a Worx reciprocating saw for trimming tree branches and other outdoor projects. While it was powerful, it was also quite heavy, and after extended use it became uncomfortable enough that I started feeling strain in my arm. That experience convinced me to look for something lighter, and this Bosch model has been a huge improvement. The only hesitation I had before purchasing was that Bosch has not yet released a brushless version of this 12V reciprocating saw. Since all of my Bosch 12V collection uses brushless motors, I was a little disappointed that both versions of this saw are still brushed. That said, after using it, I found that the performance more than meets my needs. The build quality is exactly what I have come to expect from Bosch—excellent. The tool feels solid, well-balanced, and extremely lightweight. Even with the battery installed, it is very easy to maneuver, making it ideal for overhead work, pruning, and cutting in tight spaces. The included kit came with a 2Ah battery and charger, which was a nice bonus. One of my favorite design features is the trigger lock. Instead of having to hold down a safety button every time you squeeze the trigger, you simply press the lock button once to unlock the tool, and it remains unlocked until you're finished. It is a much more convenient system than many competing reciprocating saws and makes prolonged use much more comfortable. The variable-speed trigger is smooth and easy to control, allowing for precise cutting when needed. I was also very impressed with Bosch's blade-changing mechanism. Swapping blades is quick, simple, and completely tool-free. I uploaded a video demonstrating the process because it really shows how much thought Bosch put into the design. The two included blades are enough to get started, but I would recommend purchasing Bosch's reciprocating saw blade assortment if you plan to cut different materials. Having a variety of blades greatly expands what this tool can do. Overall, I am extremely happy with this purchase. It is lightweight, compact, comfortable to use, and thoughtfully designed. For DIY enthusiasts and homeowners already invested in Bosch's 12V platform, I think this is an outstanding addition to the collection. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a portable and dependable reciprocating saw.

Nice compact saw with a small issue.
Great little saw for cramped areas. I do have a problem with the trigger safety which seems to get in the way.

This saw is awesome
This saw was so handy and easy to switch out blades that I bought another one for my other property. The price for the tool and battery, charger is a steal as the brand batteries cost is expensive. I use this thing for mainly pruning trees and bushes…but have also cut wood, nails from wood deck/fence, PVC sprinkler pipe, cardboard boxes, and some soft metals (aluminum, copper, light steel/iron) with the proper blade. This is definitely worth the price and a spot on your pegboard. Bosch of course makes a good product and does not skimp on quality and power in this case.

Great mini recip saw
I've been converting over to lighter weight 12v tools, to help ease tennis elbow pains. I didn't realize how much I would use this saw until I bought it! Much easier / safer to use one-handed than the standard size recip saws.

Another nice Bosch product
Very handy for jobs like cutting out drywall and small wood. I've even used it for cutting double 2×4s and 2×8 in remodels when I wAs too lazy to get my other one. Super lightweight. Another nice Bosch product. This is the 2nd one I've had. Used the other one to death.

My favorite yard tool!
I have a variety of a lot of palm trees and other prickly plants on my Southern Californian property. I use this thing ALL THE TIME with Milwaukee sawzall pruning blades. My first one, several years old, seems to have disappeared out of my garage near the door where it was setting. Hmmm. Finally gave up looking for it so just bought a new one and it seems as hardy and identical to my first. Hefty but not heavy. I’ve been happily sawing away and it, plus the battery it came with, are performing very well. I also use it to saw wood and pvc irrigation pipes with other blades. I’ve accidentally sawed off nail heads so I know it works well on metal too. The size makes it great to maneuver into tight spaces like my huge bird of paradise plants, hibiscus trees and acacia trees and bushes. FYI my dad bought the Ryobi version and it’s great too but slightly bigger. I prefer as small as possible without losing sawing power and this Bosch accomplishes that. But it all depends whether you’re already committed to another brand’s batteries. If not, I’d choose this one at least for yard work.

Brought this 12V specifically to cut out a door and window openings through T1-11 siding to make my daughter's cubby house. I already owned the drill driver and impact driver and had been very happy with the easy ergonomics and tight access on those tools. There are a number of great things about this saw. 1.) the carry case. It is a step up from the drill driver case (which is not that practical). Zippered with a handle it now stores the saw, drill driver, impact driver, drill bits and charger. 2.) battery - carries enough charge to get all but the largest job done. Started on 3 bars and had reduced to 2 bars after cutting out door from T1-11 siding. 3.) Power - the sweet spot for using this is product that adds up to 1 inch thick. I have used it on siding, abs pipe, corrugated iron roofing material, trim planks etc. Would I use it to demolish 2x4 window framing that is nailed in? - you could, but that would take some time. Could they improve it? Funnily enough I found holding the tool reversed cutting away from myself gave a great deal of control. This meant the tool could be used to cut 1x3 trim boards more safely than with a skill or table saw. The blade is not centered in the guide so I marked the position on the front and back of the guide to use this as a cross between a jigsaw/skill saw. Would be easy enough to have this done at the factory. The included saws are fairly basic. Pick up some others. A 10 TPI wood blade would be useful. The oscillating tool will be my next Bosch 12V purchase.

Can't wait to use it!
I have a big garden, lots of trees, and other raised gardens to repair, replace this spring, and my deck needs an upgrade. I'm sure this will come in handy. Bosch makes a great product. It's powerful yet light and small.
