Wrong time. How to change time?

There is a small knob on the side. Pull out, change time, push in. Unfortunately you have to take the clock off of whatever it's on the change the time. It seems to stick OK after it's reattached.

Does it make a ticking sound?

they seem totally silent to me. I didn't lay my ear on them in a silent room, but on the dash where I put it I have never heard a sound.
