I have some wires behind my TV that look bad. I bought this so I could clamp them to the frame of the tv stand and hide them that way. They work for that, though sometimes they slip down.My adult daughter, who has a thick head of straight hair tried to use one to make a pony tail and it didn't reach. For a child, I'm sure they would be fine.
