Deluxe Velvet 4.25 Inch Steampunk Top Hat with Removable Goggles

Not exactly as pictured. As I checked out the picture switched to another model wearing a similar but different hat than what was on the main picture. It didn’t even match the second picture exactly. The one I received did not come with the clock piece near the gears in the picture and the tulle is so short even for the second picture, it’s hardly noticeable. The gears are hot glued on and probably will need to add more glue before I wear it out. No big deal in my opinion. ***BUT I actually wanted one a little less “fancy” for a Halloween costume so I didn’t dock stars for that. If you are looking for the exact item from the picture, beware, item seems to vary. Color of hat is right, black, which I ordered, and it’s a nice, thick material, very sturdy. I really like the goggles on the hat. They are antique looking, yet plastic. I took them off and wore them. Not too terribly uncomfortable but vision is not very clear/ a little wavy. Definitely meant as a costume piece to the hat and not to wear in eyes for long periods or driving. Plus, the lens is dark so the view is dark. You can still see through it though. Overall, it’s right for me but may not be right for everyone with the details varying. Great for the price. Perfect for my costume that will be Evie Frye with Jacob’s cane sword and this hat added for fun (from assassins creed syndicate).

When I realized it was probably going to rain a bit at the Steampunk festival I had to find a different hat than the vintage cane hat I had so I purchased this one. I was totally impressed with how well made it it. Very well decorated and the hat itself was very well done...almost like the old "beaver hats" of by-gone days. Goggles were plastic though, but looked great on the hat. Only drawback was it was quite large. I wear a 7-71/4 hat size and this was really big. I had to stuff it with paper so it didn't drop down over my eyes...but it worked out OK.

I love this hat. It is not for a large head so it fits me. It's made well It has a great shape and I can easily add a extra doodahs. I feel like the price is VERY reasonable.

Let's face it: 2020 ruined a bunch of great holidays. But, we're trying to make the most of it, and when my high school senior said she wanted to dress up in steam punk attire for school for Halloween, I wanted to help her make the most of it. We already had base pieces (corset and such), so she only needed to find the finishing touches. This hat was pretty spectacular. She didn't like the goggles and ended up ordering a different pair, but we were both impressed with the hat itself and she looked great.

This was a fantastic buy. The hat is well made for the price and has a nice amount of embellishments for a beginner's hat. Easy to use as is or as a base for something more. The hat itself has a velvety suede feel and the glasses are removable. Despite being shipped in a box, mine came in slightly damaged. The top of the hat was punched in on one side. Because of the box, I can only assume this happened either during storage or packing for shipment. At any rate, I laid it upside down on a table an gently pushed the crown back into place. You can hardly tell it was ever bent. Also, the tall feather got bent in storage. Another easy fix as I VERY gently bent it back. I am posting multiple photos so you can see each side of the hat.

The hat arrived just in time for my first Tesla Con Steam Punk convention. It was amazing! VERY nice. I love it. The only problem was that my hat size is a 6-5/8ths and most adult sizes start at 7 - 7-1/8th. So it was a little too big. No matter! I just used our cowboy hat hack - I bought a roll of of foam weather stripping with adhesive backing from the hardware store and glued it around the inside of the hat. Problem solved. I'm looking for more opportunities to wear this fun hat in real life!
