Had a Harbor Breeze ceiling fan w/light that just died one day. Electrical feed to the fan unit was tested amd fine, but the remote/receiver was dead. It indicated it was able to "pair" but still did not function. Called customer service at Harbor Breeze (Lowes) and they were helpful trying to diagnose the problem, but it still did not work. However they did have a replacement for $31, but the shipping was $39 for 7-10 day delivery. Needless to say, that conversation didn't go any further. Ordered the part from Amazon and installed it in less then 15 minutes. The fit was perfect, the instructions were clear. The remote control buttons have a nice feel. The only con, it did not come with a 9v battery for the remote. Had to scrounge around for a battery in order to test my installation. Everything was working fine, an Easy Fix.

Item was delivered promptly and well packaged. Installation was a breeze. Great to have my fan and light working again!

The unit itself works fine so far. Longevity is yet to be seen, of course, as it has only been installed for 2 months. The relay/control box could be smaller as other reviewers have stated. In my case there was no room for it in the electrical fan box in my ceiling and the bezel for the fan to ceiling was too small. So, until I install either a bigger fan hanging box or insert a junction box in the attic next to the fan box it is hanging by the #12 feed wires and sitting on the fan bezel out in the open -- which looks pretty tacky. But, hey. It my bedroom nobody but my wife and I see until winter (in Arizona) when the attic is a nice temp to put that extra junction box in. Installation was easy for anyone with basic electrical know-how as the colors don't match exactly to the standard black= hot wire, white=neutral, green= ground color scheme found in housing wiring. (Red is also typically found where fan circuits are found in wall switches where the black wire feeding current into the switch box is split into two hot wires: one black and one red to feed the light and fan independently with two switches in the wall plate.) Knowing that and looking at the included directions with this unit should make you able to know what to wire the relay/control box wires to in your fan ceiling box.

Installation is a bit of a pain when there isn't much clearance to the ceiling, but not terrible. Took like 35 mins. Seemed to work ok for 6 months or so, (installed Dec 22, 2022). Then I started noticing the light would be on when no one was in that room or would be on late at night starting around June 2023. Changed batteries in the remote and removed the battery at one point ( so it wasn't the remote) and every couple of days, the light or the fan or both would go on by itself. Must be an issue with a defective control module. Will have to replace at some point again. Doesn't inspire great confidence in the quality of the product. UPDATE 9/18/23: Customer service contacted me within 12 hours of this review going live and offered a full refund. I gave them one star back for promptly replying and an additional star back for offering the full refund. I will try resetting the channel on the remote and module this week to see if there is interference with a neighbor's remote as per their suggestion and update again in the future. UPDATE 3-11-25: Changed channel and unit is working fine for over a year now. Very good customer service. None of my neighbors have this brand of light or fan, but maybe a different brand remote was affecting my unit. No issues since.

Most websites say that the remote is what usually fails on these units. After buying a new remote, the new one didn't work either. In my case, it was the receiver that had failed, and the only way to know is via parts replacement. Just do yourself a favor and buy a kit with both the remote and the receiver and eliminate the problems. It's only a few dollars more to get the kit, and at least you will have a spare working component when it inevitably fails again in a few years. There's a very good reason these items are dirt cheap.

Fit perfectly , wire well marked for ease of installation. Remote works without any issues.

It worked fine for just under two months, and has now completely died. Unfortunately, outside of the return window.

Works as expected. Fit well in the fan (same size) and was easy to install and set.
