I love everything about it
This is an outstanding mount. I love everything about it. However, as some other reviewers have mentioned, a 55 pound thrust motor produces a great deal of rotational deflection in the rod that the motor mounts to. There is a very simple, and very effective fix for this problem. There are four bolts in the motor block that hold the two halves of the block together. I replaced the top, inside bolt with an eye bolt having the eye facing the front of the kayak. Then, just connect an adjustable strap between the eye bolt and your kayak and you will get absolutely no rotation in the primary rod of the mount. In fact, I'd recommend that Brocraft incorporate this simple change into their design. It produces a far more rigid system for any size motor.

Decent mount but aluminum is too weak for 55lb thrust
Overall a decent mount, but as other reviewers noted, the adjustments that allow for exact angling of the mount once placed, also make it harder to tighten down and lock into place permanently. As well, the tie down straps should be longer, to give more leverage, otherwise that too is somewhat hard to tighten - nylon is slipper against metal brackets and plastic kayaks. And yes, the mounting plate is hollow, which is good for weight (hanging a motor off the side is already an imbalance) but bad for really cranking a strong motor into place (though admittedly you shouldn’t have to). The thing I don’t see mentioned that I’ve experienced is the aluminum bar the mount plate attaches to can *torque* and *twist* vs. its anchors, which basically means that the plate will start out straight up and down but over time it’s going to start to bend backwards (I have a shorter kayak appropriate motor, so I have the plate hanging down from the bar). The aluminum bar is just not strong enough to handle the thrust/torque of a stronger motor (55lb thrust) in the long term. In fact, I might even say the short term - I’ve had only 3 full days worth of time out on the water and it’s already happened to me. Major bummer. If you have a bigger motor, look for something stronger.

This Mount ROCKS!!!!!!!!
Listen folks! I totally love this set up! It worked perfect for my Trophy 126 Kayak 10 feet. Looked at every You tube video possible about ways to add a Trolling motor to a kayak, they all involved going to the hardware store and getting all kinds of stuff, PCV nuts and bolts and, Screw it! Until I saw this set up, I was like now that’s what I’m talking about! I’m a Eagle Photographer and I don’t have time for all that build it yourself crap! This set up worked perfect, I’m 63 years old and I have been kayaking since my days serving the Military, I love kayaking and I go everywhere between Ohio and Pennsylvania, this bracket sat right down into my rod holders, I attached a 36lb thrust trolling motor to it which did make my kayak a bit too heavy on that side of the Kayak, BUT! I also have a 45 lb Deep Cycle Marine Battery that balanced things off with it positioned near the front of my kayak and on the opposite side of the trolling motor, this perfectly balanced my kayak, and with my 200 pounds in the center, I have been enjoying the Heck out of my Kayak so far this year, you do have to place the straps onto the bracket and the kayak to help with any stability, when you kick that trolling motor into gear 5, Wow! The bracket is holding up very well and I’m zooming through the lakes and rivers, and other kayakers are in envy of me passing them up LOL, this is a great product and I totally recommend it.

Great product. Easy to set up.
I own a FeelFree Lure 10 kayak with rear facing flush mounted rod holders. It is a very stable boat. With that being said, this is a great way to mount a trolling motor. The weight of the motor causes the kayak to list. I place the battery to the opposite side of the tankwell as a counterweight. I got the model with the rocket launcher rod holders. The tubes are of no use to me but the brackets to which they attach are perfect to help tie down the bar.

Not for ocean use and 3hp motors
This is a high-quality mount for perhaps lake cruising with minimal water surge and pressure. It was not able to handle a medium surge day (5ft swells at 10 seconds) in Maui with my Spirit 3hp or electric 1000-watt motor. On the first sail out, the plastic part broke. I was told by technicians of island hopper that the combination of ocean surge and powerful torque of my motor was too much for the plastic parts on this motor mount when used with my Hobie Tandem Island. Hoping that the product island hopper has tested thousands of times on the TI will be able to withstand the waters, winds, swells and torque in Maui or I have to get a local metal fabricator to make a custom version for me. I imagine that this product will work great in a lake environment for just trolling.

Brocraft Mount System is Worth the Investment
I added a 30# thrust Minn Kota to my yak this season and didn't want to drill holes and hoped that this mount would give me enough support. And it did with no problem. In forward and reverse it stands up to the torque and weight of the motor. When I bring the motor out of the water to rest, I balance the shaft to allow the weight of the prop as to not stress out the mounting block. It has a variety of adjustability and fastens down tight with the straps. WHICH ARE A MUST. The cleats they give you with this are plastic so a tossed them out and used ones with a little more beef to em'. Yeah you sacrifice your back rod holders but the system gives you two in the slide bar which is compatible to other brands of accessories. My rig is a Jackson Koosa HD 12.5 ft. Hope this helps anyone out there and stay safe on the water...

Mounting Issues
Perception Angler 10.5 using 30/ 30 motor. Too much slop in rear rod holders, added shims taped to make more rigid. Works fine but problem for me now is raising motor in shallow water, can't really reach to do it. Need to come up with an extension to move motor or the whole mount forward a bit.

Quality product, simple to install and remove
I installed it on a Jackson Coosa HD. It was a simple install. Once the straps are properly tightened, it’s a great fit. I’m using a Minn-Kota 30 on it. At the highest speed the mount wants to flex. I use a little downward pressure on the handle to compensate for this. Also flex’s if you tilt the motor when launching. I instead raise the motor vertically, this reduces the flex. For a system that can be taken on and off in minutes, I’m really pleased with my new mount.

My husband bought me a kayak for Christmas. Because of a bad shoulder, he needed to buy me a motor. This fit in the kayak nicely and holds the motor. Great craftsmanship. Very happy with this purchase.

Good quality product. Will fit perfect in my winner kayak. Fully adjustable and comes with rod holders to replace your rear ones.

Not sure if it is going to work on my kayak due to the rail not being long enough. Why didn't they make it a few inches longer? The tie down straps that come with it are too short, so they are useless. The rod holders are ok but Scotty rod holders will not fit in the base.

The concept is a good idea .. but if you plan on using anything more then like a 25 thrust don’t bother. The straps it comes with are to short and even if you use your own straps it pulls hard on the rod holder mounts … basically ripped mine out. Practically useless unless you have some sort of metal rod holders. Wouldn’t recommend..save the money and build your own mounting point
