Works great.
Works great. My cat has been using this fountain for years. While the old pump seemed to work fine, it kept spewing out yucky stuff no matter how much I cleaned it. It was over 4 years old though so no complaints. I got a new one and it works great.

Motor
This is the right motor for my cats fountain. It works great. It has different levels of how high to make the water. And it has a piece on it to take off to assist in cleaning it. And if it has trouble working you can reset the motor to make the motor spin again by taking that piece off.

Long-lasting, quiet & a cinch to clean
I purchased the Pioneer SmartCat Fountain at least 10 years ago and thought the pump had finally reached the end of its long life when I cleaned the fountain this weekend. It didn't come back on when I plugged it back in, so I hurriedly ordered a replacement pump. Fortunately, I inspected the existing one a final time before throwing it away and realized that the problem was me: I had inadvertently tugged on the cord at some point and pulled the barrel connector partially out of the adapter. I pushed it back in and it's working fine once again. I'm absolutely thrilled at how long this product has lasted so far and am interested to see exactly how long it continues to last before I have to open up the spare. It's extremely easy to pop the plastic guards off of the pump to clean it with a Q-Tip. It also still runs quietly after all this time. There was some definite degradation in the suction cup feet on the bottom of the pump after several years, but I can still get it to seat firmly in the fountain. If I occasionally notice that it's running slightly louder than usual, I just shift the top tier of the fountain that sits over the pump a little and it quiets down immediately to its normal level.

Changed design, does not work with older fountains.
Have had the fountain that this goes to for probably a decade-ish now. Replaced a few pumps, and many of the filters (obviously). The pump comes apart and is easy to clean. I ordered this replacement pump because the one I had got fried in a power surge at my house that has ungrounded power. They changed the connection to the power adaptor. The new connection is a lot wider than the one they previously used. It will not fit down the hole for it in my fountain. Not sure what the deal is with this, but it seems like obsolescence by design to me. I ended up making a new cut in the lid of the dish to run the cord out of and make it work.I also received a box that was opened and missing the adaptor. I didn’t return for a replacement since I already had a new, unused adaptor from a previous pump that I purchased. Also I had already had the dish not running for a week and they were telling me it’d be another 10 days for delivery in these (covid) times. Not sure if I received a return and resell product, but this new pump had the same output as all the other pumps that I have ordered on the medium setting instead of the low setting.Overall I have been very happy with this dish for the time I have had it, maybe a decade, give or take a year or two. The issues with this pump make me cautious to buy a new dish from this company. At $40-50+ for a pet water dish, yes I did get my use out of it, but I was very disappointed by this replacement pump I purchased. I will be replacing my current water dish, but I’m not sure about staying with the same one because of this design change in the pump. Will I spend more money on a new dish and a few years down the road find a new design change in the pump when I need a replacement? Who knows.Bottom line, no I would not recommend this replacement pump for someone that owns the pioneer pet teardrop stainless fountain. I also can’t recommend any of the knockoff brands that are floating around either since I have never tried them and can’t attest to the lifespan or compatibility. All I can say is buyer beware.

So glad I got this correct replacement
I have a Pioneer Raindrop Pet Fountain (stainless steel) for over a decade. Only recently when the original pump became loud as the propeller wore out, even though the impressive little pump still spins and moves water. I am very glad I chose this new replacement for several reasons:1) The Raindrop fountain requires the cord to go through a small access port. This pump cord disconnects from the transformer that plugs into the wall, and the cord can be threaded through the access port. Other pump designs may not have worked.2) This pump is powerful for my small fountain (50 gallons per hour); I adjusted the flow limiter to the lowest power, and there is no pump noise at all, just the water burbling sound. A more powerful pump would likely be too loud.3) This pump has 3 suction cups and it sticks securely on the stainless steel surface. It is an improvement over the old pump that has 2 suction cups.4) The pump construction is the same as the original, so I know how to take it apart to clean. I do this deep-clean weekly in the summer, and every 2 weeks in the winter. I use a small bristle brush and an old toothbrush. I find it to be not too troublesome for my cats' clean drinking water.I kept this relatively frequent cleaning schedule with the old pump along with ensuring the pump is always fully submerged. It lasted for more than 10 years. The new pump has been performing very well for 2 months already. I hope it will last many years like the old one.
