Hayfield Bonus DK Double Knitting, Deep Rose (616), 100g

I am knitting a picnic blanket in squares so I double the DK so that makes it “ Chunky “ it will protect anyone who sits or lies on it. Stones and hard soil can’t be felt when it is created double thick. Just a word of advice if you wind two balls together it is next to impossible to unravel back to “ DK “ again. Once you have wound them together they are a single product. Thank you for a quality product . Just a thought print a pattern on the wrapper just to crochet or knit squares. My choice of cheerful colours is coming together beautifully my only problem now is WHO to give it to? lol I am hoping that it will have a long useful lifetime . I am 77 years old now and find that knitting is very good exercise keep my hands supple. I hate just watching the TV with nothing to do with my hands at the moment I can make one square a day . The big challenge that I see ahead is sewing the squares together ! With a strong border - I don’t use white as it wouldn’t look good if it gets dirty I wash the squares in my washing machine on a low temperature with a short spin cycle ,you may have to leave it hanging in the bathroom to “ drip dry “ but if washed and dried on a hot wash it can change a very handsome blanket to a not so beautiful end product . Good luck you will really enjoy this very creative endeavour,putting unusual colours together there is a wonderful inexpensive project that you might love to keep for the top of your bed ? I’m planning to live to be 97 years of age like my mother I might need that many years if my bed is a big one ! Happy knitting /chrochet everyone xx

good yarn, nice colour, looks like the photo. great for crocheting. only issue is there was this strand with red in the middle of the skien? the rest is usable so not really an issue but thought i’d point it out. haven’t used much of the skien yet so not sure if there’s more of this!
