ESEE Knives 6P Fixed Blade Knife w/Molded Polymer Sheath (Dark Earth Blade/Black Sheath)

Have not put it through its paces at the campsite yet, but from the videos, I've watched this thing will take the abuse. Robust design that feels good in the hand with the ability to get a close tight grip for small work and also very usable for larger tasks. Came razor sharp, could cut blades of grass with no efforts. Lifetime unconditional transferable warranty and made in the USA. A belt clip would be better if it rotated for EDC.Update:So after heavy abuse, I can say this knife has held up amazingly. The finish is still strong and thick. I have used it to hack down saplings and split firewood using a mallet and the blade. Top notch knife that is well worth the purchase. I carry it in my truck with me every day and have no doubt that I'll be ready for any knife and hatchet required jobs with this one tool. Definitely won't be my last ESEE blade. A bit on the long side to EDC on your person.

I looked at a couple of Esse's and a couple of Tops to try and determine which would be best suited for me for general purpose camping and hiking duties. I am not a all out bushcrafter and wasn't looking for ways to destroy a perfectly good knife by using it as a prybar, to cut rocks in half or to do things knives aren't made to do. I simply wanted something that was going to be reliable for what I needed it for and that is typically to make kindling, to baton wood, some feather sticking, general cutting and slicing duties while maintaining a good edge and also being easy to resharpen. I had the Tops Brakimo as well as the Brothers of Bushcraft and compared them to the Esee 4 and the Esee 6. I truly believe that all four could have easily done the job and I would have been happy with any of them, I ended up choosing the Esee for a couple of reasons. I like the full flat grind on the Esse's but most importantly as a left-hander, the Esse's had way more ability to carry in different ways; specifically left-handed. While the Tops were really good quality knives and had decent sheaths, they were leather and only came and right-handed versions. I understand that I could have worn it and either drew the knife backwards from my left side or did a cross draw but for the price of the knives I didn't feel like I should have to buy another sheath or resort to cross drawing if I didn't need to. So I ended up keeping the Esee 6 and the Esee 4 which I'm sure will do everything I need them to and more while giving me the ability to actually carry it on my left side and drawing it in a normal way.

I’ve done countless hours research for the ultimate large Bushcraft/ survival / defence knife for the wilds of British Columbia.Had been waiting for the Canadian dollar to improve for years before I bought it.But after being in a hand to paw fight with a grizzly a few years ago I just ordered it !It is so well balanced in the hand.Quality is unreal !Was going to upgrade to kydex but it’s lighter and very positive secure snap when sheathed.Fits my large to extra large hands perfect. When choked up to the finger choil it feels like a small knife which I still cannot believe it’s the same knife!I’ve beaten the thing good chopping out shooting lanes for hunting.Cleared trails and chopped bait sticks and fencing sticks while beaver trapping.Packed it for bow hunting, shed hunting and day hunts for extra defence.Only thing I will change is the grips are to smooth for my hands.I’ll definitely get G 10 scales for it.Once I tried G10 with my new Spyderco water way, it’s my first choice for a non bushcrafting handle.Pictured next to my Mora for size comparison.Longer and lighter than a Esee 5Sold !

I am totally happy with this knife. It's a tough no-nonsense tool, not something that was just made to look pretty in a knife collection. Out of the box the knife was very sharp.The sheath is very durable and the knife fits snuggly. I would have preferred to have a belt loop design instead of the clip-on style but the clip works well. The knife is soundly locked in the sheath so to takes a good tug to pull it out.I added the accessory pouch. It's great if you have an extra $25.00.This is my favorite fixed blade knife. I liked it so much that I bought a second one and gave it to one of my best buddies.

Excellent knife, ideal for bushcraft

After one day of use batoning wood, one of the handle screws came off and went missing. It cost 14 dollars to get a replacement

I have decades of experience with knives, but I am new to camping. This superb knife is very good for many uses, and the ergonomics are beautiful. The combination of quality, value and design verifies the great reviews. I highly recommend this knife.

Absolutely love this knife. It’s sharp, great to look at, tough, will do anything you need it to. Had an old k-bar before this that I loved, but this beats it by a landslide! Not completely sold on a sheath but I more or less keep it in my backpack when I hike.

Das messer liegt gut in der Hand und rutscht auch nicht aus der scheide raus was man dazu sagen muss das es einen Vorteil und einen Nachteil hat. Es rutscht absolut nicht aus der scheide heraus allerdings wenn man nur eine Hand zur Verfügung hat ist dies auch ein großer Nachteil. Die klinge ist protall scharf, den ich bin nur mal mit dem Finger ein bißchen an die klinge gekommen und habe mich gleich geschnitten, und gemerkt habe ich es erst 1/2 Minute später. Wenn ich über irgendwas meckern müsste wäre es das an der Stelle wo das Messer einrastet sieht man schwarze Spuren, wem das stört würde ich empfehlen es sich einfach in schwarz zu kaufen oder wenn es das nicht gibt einfach gar nicht 😄. Ansonsten absolute Kaufempfehlung

I’ve had my Esee 6 for about a month now. It is an amazing knife. It has good heft but is not too heavy. The micarta handles are comfortable and provide good grip. If you are only going to own one fixed blade knife this should be it. The 1095 steel does not have the greatest edge retention but is extremely tough and easy to sharpen. I carry a Camillus glide sharpener when in the field and can easily bring the edge back when necessary. The sheath is sufficient but does not do this great knife justice. I don’t really have any thing negative to say about this piece of kit.

Un cuchillo de la marca estadounidense ESEE, fundada por Jeff Randall y Mike Perrin en 1997 en el estado de Idaho. Allí fabrican estos cuchillos que, tal y como indican en la caja, ofrecen garantía de por vida: “No questions asked”. Tú les envías el cuchillo roto y ellos te mandan otro nuevo, sin más.En la caja pone ESEE 6, y es que existen también los ESEE 3, 4 y 5, además de un catálogo bastante impresionante de filos para todo tipo de menesteres, siempre orientados al bushcraft y a la supervivencia. Sin enrollarnos mucho: el cuchillo pesa 335 gramos, que no es poco; mide 29 centímetros, de los cuales 16,5 cm son de filo útil. Tiene un grosor de hoja de 4,3 mm en su parte más ancha, es totalmente enterizo y está fabricado en acero al carbono 1095, con un recubrimiento o pavonado de pintura con polvo epoxi en toda la hoja para evitar la oxidación.El acero 1095 es excelente: retiene muy bien el filo y se afila con facilidad (incluso con una piedra de río si no hay otra cosa). Como contrapunto, se oxida con más facilidad debido a su alto contenido de carbono, pero este recubrimiento —en este caso, un verde arenoso— mitiga notablemente el problema, imagino que con un uso continuado esta película se ira desprendiendo, pero he visto videos en el que se le hacen verdaderas barbarides y aguanta bien el tipo.El mango mide 13,3 centímetros y está hecho de micarta de lino, con un agarre espectacular tanto en seco como en mojado; la mano se adapta de forma sobresaliente. Acompaña al cuchillo una funda de Zytel, un nylon moldeado por inyección muy resistente que se adapta bien y protege la hoja; no produce vibraciones ni ruidos.En resumen, por el precio que pague, (ojo que los precios oscilan mucho) con respecto a otros sitios es otro filo excepcional que añadire a mi coleccion.
