Is this a version 2 or 3 rotary cutter?

I ordered this on Dec 6, 2018 and received it on Dec 8, 2018. Do not hesitate to purchase this, especially at this amazing price. It is definitely the Version 3, with the thumb hole, index finger guide and small directional arrow on the blade. I checked out the description of both version 2 and 3 on Martelli's website and the one I received fits the description of version 3. Great Deal!

I have a stash of Olfa blades - will they work with the Martelli Ergo 2000 cutter?

Olfa blades can't be used in our cutters. The difference is that the center of our blades are perfectly round and the center of Olfa blades are notched. If you use the Olfa blades in the Martelli cutter, they will dig into the bolt and cause the blade to stop rolling. There is a Fiskar blade that has the round center, but they don't last as long and they are a bit pricey. Hope that helps!

So, has anyone tried using an Olfa blade on the Martelli Ergocutter yet?

Yep, and it will NOT work. This version of the Martelli cutter uses a blade with a smooth circle in the middle, not the notched like the Olfa. The earlier Martelli cutters did use the usual notched blades, but not the new one. I don't know if there is a "model" # or something like that to tell the difference between the old and the new versions. That said, I wouldn't be able to cut fabric if I used anything else, so I switched to the smooth circle blades. :)

Do this rotary cutter come with batteries?

Batteries are not necessary. I love this style of rotary cutter. Much easier to control.
