Plastic bottle 🤢 (34 oz option)
I’ve always known colavita to be packaged in glass & so didn’t check the listing closely to confirm before ordering. Dismayed to see it in plastic ! when it arrived & immediately transferred into glass I had on hand (not opaque though unfortunately). I didn’t know this was something I had to watch out for from colavita & will be more careful in the future. Generally speaking colavita makes great mid-level olive oils. For years my all-purpose olive oil for dipping, dressing, & low-heat cooking has been the blended variety (“Premium Selection”) which has a good bold flavor & is beautifully spicy. Also a fun fact — in one scientific study that I know of colavita tested highest for polyphenol content out of an array of common grocery store brands. 👍 This 100% Italian version tastes very similar to the blended variety. (The 100% Spanish bottle by comparison is much fruitier & less spicy, though also nice.) Being so similar to the blend I’m not sure I will spring for it again with the extra cost, though if I do it’ll definitely be either the 100 oz tin or the 25 oz glass bottle two-pack. In addition to not being plastic, these both offer the best price per oz & are only 10 cents/oz more than the 34 oz glass bottle of the blend. In conclusion: colavita olive oils are recommended, be aware of what you’re buying & enjoy your tasty olive oil 😊

Delicious and all Italian EVOO
I've bought this for years. First of all, it is delicious. Second, the premium Italian one (check the label) is not mixed with oils from other countries. Third, it is part of a healthy Mediterranean diet. Fourth, in a dark glass bottle; keeps it from spoiling and also--no plastics. Worth waiting a bit longer for shipping--order before you run out! It has always been perfectly packed with no breakage issues. Try it on a salad with some balsamic glaze; you will love it.

100 pct Italian olive oil, but Amazon needs to use better packaging
Olive oil is great but this is the second time the plastic bottle was damaged since it was shipped in a box with insufficient packing materials around the bottle.

Fresh and Flavorful
If you cook a lot, this olive oil is for you. I use it in everything that I cook and bake, from sauteing vegetables to lemon-olive oil Italian tart. It does not have an aftertaste and has a very fresh flavor. My husband uses it as a dipping sauce for slices of french baguette.
