What is the stick made of? Can it stay hard if it is extended?

The pole is made from aluminum sections that slide together with a spring clip that retains them once connected. At first glance I thought the metal tubes were pretty thin, but once assembled, I was impressed with how solid it is. No flex and really well designed in my opinion.

How do you apply the window cleaner? Do you soak one of the pads in window cleaner or spray it on the window?

I use a bucket with small amount of Dawn & just dip the pad into it
