Marco Polo Ajvar Mild - Roasted Red Pepper Spread Mild, 19.3 oz

Love Ajvar. I used to get it when I lived in NYC. But, had no idea where to find it when I moved to FT. Worth. Tried plenty of groceries and none ever even heard of it. Thanks to Amazon, I found it here. This is the same awesome taste that I remember. Unique, and hard to describe, but it is basically eggplant mixed with hot peppers, and some spices, roasted, blended, and severed as a spread over just about anything you want, starting with breakfast over eggs, added to any type of bread, onto lunch as a perfect condiment to a sandwich with or without meat –– good on veggies as well as any meat –– on to dinner, you name it, it taste delicious on it. Toast pointes with mozzarella, a cherry tomato and a dash of Ajvar, and you're living like a king. (Or queen)

I liked the price and the quality. We'd been getting this from Big Lots for years but they've stopped carrying it. We like it as a replacement for tomato-based pasta sauce because my wife is "sensitive" to tomatoes. We also like it as a pizza sauce.

I purchased this originally at a specialty brick and mortar store. It is such a delicious alternative to tomato sauce for my allergic husband. I was hesitant to order here because so many complained about opened or broken jars. Happy to say mine arrived intacked.

Tasty. Goes great on pasta, rice. Versatile.

I had to throw this jar away because it had sharp pieces like fish bones in it. They were plant product but it made it inedible. Too bad. The flavor was good.

I absolutely loved this item!! My husband is a type 1 diabetic with stage 4 kidney disease, so he can’t eat high potassium foods like tomatoes, but he loves dishes made with tomato sauce. So this item was a perfect tomato sauce substitute. It actually taste better than tomato sauce! I’ve made spaghetti, lasagna, meatball subs, and many other dishes using this Marco Polo spread, and the food came out delicious! Very pleased with this Marco Polo spread...I will definitely keep ordering. I wish the price was a little lower, but I love this product.
