They felt funny..
I wasn't sure about these when I first opened the package. I hadn't tried freeze dried treats before, nor had my dogs. haha. They felt funny...kind of like styrofoam, and from the looks on my spoiled dogs' faces when I gave them one....they were thinking the same thing. They smelled them and nudged them a bit before trying, but once they ate one, I could see that their minds had changed. They wanted more !! I had to do a little research about freeze-drying because I am very careful about what I feed my fur-babies....I even cook their meals for them. I was very happy to find out that freeze-drying is one of the purest forms of maintaining the nutritional content without having to add any preservatives or unnatural products of any kind. It happens by flash freezing the liver, then very low heat (even lower than when dehydrating) is applied which evaporates around 98% of the moisture, preserving it in it's natural state without the need for any chemicals. None of the vitamins , minerals, essential fats, or anything else in it , is compromised in this process. This leaves you with the purest and most concentrated product that you can get. It's just 100% chicken liver. Wow, how did I not know about this before? Organ meat is so beneficial to dogs and to know that I am giving them something so pure, that is going to be so good for them....makes me feel good. This bag is very large and contains around 240 treats. So even if you have large dogs like I do, this is going to last a while. There are only 4 calories in each treat and they recommend 2-4 per day for a small dog and 6-8 for a large dog. 4 CALORIES ???? ....I wonder if I should be eating freeze-dried. lol My picky dogs love them and I feel good about giving it to them....WIN-WIN.

So far, Great for Elderly Dog...
Just a month ago a close friend of mine passed away and left behind her precious elderly mini poodle whom I decided to adopt. It's been a challenge to try and figure out what he likes and what he can safely eat at the same time. So far, it seems to be great (and safe at 1-2 once every other day for now) for the little guy who has a heart condition, has only two teeth and is finicky... (He does prefer for it to be broken in half...💕) It is super low in salt, yet he seems to really like the taste.

Low fat!
My little Schnoodle loves these and usually I can get them for a good price. I love the fact they are natural ingredients low fat! That can be a hard thing to find. With his breed he has diet restrictions to keep him healthy. They are also soft and easy to break apart for training. I will continue ordering them.

Read the description-- for small dogs!
I just got them today. My dogs seemed to like them. My issue is that I missed the description where it said for "small dogs." Totally my fault! My Rottweiler & Pitbull looked at them like, "Is that it?" Ha-ha! Oops. These treats would be good for very small dogs! I like the ingredients (which is what drew me to try them.) However it's a small bag for almost $6. Not the best value for me.

My dogs like them.
They’re tiny and soft. I have 2 little dogs with barely any teeth left. They love them. They loved them before their teeth were pulled.

My dog loves them
My chunky baby needed to be on a diet, and these were the answer. He is very food motivated, which is how we got into the mess of him being plump, and for the health of our pooch we needed to make a change. He was already on healthy food and we portioned out his food, so that lead us to believe it was the treats contributing to his love handles. We stopped giving him the other treats like Milkbones or jerky sticks and started giving him these. They are small so we can give him a few and he feels like hes really getting a treat! Plus they are good to reinforce his training without adding those extra calories to his diet. He really loves the flavor. I did give 3 stars for the scent but, thats because the smell is off putting to people.. but you cant expect much from a dog treat.. unless YOU are eating them, the smell REALLY shouldnt matter to you. My pup LOVES them so the smell isn't bad, I guess.

Our jackawowow will eat them, if he's desperate. The big dog will eat cigarette butts.

My dog usually loves the Fruitables soft treats, but for some reason wouldnt eat this flavour. He has had bison before in other treats and never had an issue so not sure if these just seemed off to him
