I'm one happy customer!!
My son washed his whites--including his school uniforms--with his new dark brown and black jeans (face palm moment). Shirts and socks looked like blotchy pumpkins. I tried soaking them with OxiClean powder for 6 hours...no use. Then I tried this Rit product. Within 5-10 min of soaking the shirts in simmering hot water mixed with the Rit, the clothes turned white than white! To my horror, the orange-stained socks were accidentally thrown in the dryer before I could treat them. Fearing the worst, I tried soaking the socks anyway...and they turned white again too!!! I wish I took before and after photos for this review, but all I can say is the Rit product did exactly what it promised to do, and that makes me one happy customer. I wish I had known about this product earlier in life...I could have salvaged so many other clothes I've had to throw away.

Effective, but maybe too effective for certain materials
My poor thermal shirt. It arrived smelling so strongly of perfume that I had no choice but to strip the color out of it. I used this color remover, and wow — it worked. It pulled the dye right out, but left the once camouflagecolor fabric a mustard yellow. After that, the shirt wouldn’t accept any black or blue pigment no matter what I tried. So yes, the product is powerful and absolutely removes color, but be aware that some fabrics may not re‑dye well afterward.

Don't be like me
Works amazingly for what it's intended for also works a little too well for what you don't want. I washed a bunch of harem pants together because I though it would be safe since I had washed them all previously. A pair of hot pink ones from a company different than all the others bled onto the white parts of light yellow and I think blue pairs so I ran those separately with one pack of this powder. I am now the proud owner of two pairs of very light yellow pants as well as two pairs of kinda greenish brown pants.

Good but removes more than just areas of color bleed
First things first. Does it work? Yes is it flawless? No. I had a beautiful dark navy blue dress with a sheer overlay that was also really dark Navy with white dotted daisies I made the mistake of soaking the dress causing color bleed onto the white flowers. I tried to fix it with various home remedies which did not work and ultimately gave up on the dress until finding this product. Keep in mind it has been more than a year since I have opted to even try to fix this dress because I thought it was that far gone. And the photos attached. You can see that after just 10 minutes of being in the solution stirred constantly, the color was removed off of the white petals, although appeared a little bit Brown/ beige initially. After rinsing and washing per instructions provided, the flowers returned to their beautiful white. Unfortunately the background blue of the sheer overlay completely lost. Its saturation and now looks more like a light. Blue/ white fabric with light blue hue. I gave it four stars because it was non-selective in the color removal and unfortunately in my case I will have to completely remove the overlay and replace it.

Well pink is pretty lol
Just like so many of you, something red snuck it's way into a load of whites and ruined my day! I was washing white towels and sheets and they were turned a lovely shade of pink, lol. I rewashed with an insane amount of white distilled vinegar, I rewashed with damn near a full bottle of shout stain remover, neither worked so I bought 1package of this from walmart, which is all they had. I didnt read the directions and just dumped it in with my laundry before filling my washer with water or anything, wow go me! It didnt work at all! So I than read the directions, ordered the 3 pack off of here and although it said stovetop was most effective, I don't have a witch cauldron, and I didnt want to do 1 towel at a time so I used my washer. I followed the directions to a T for a topload washer, and used all 3 packages. So it did lighten the pink but unfortunately it didn't do much. So after this I'm feeling pretty desperate, and dumped an entire bottle of bleach in with the load and added water and let them soak for a few hours and finally I opened my washer to see everything back to white! Well all except 1 pesky still light pink pillow case!

Better than I had hoped for!
Did better than expected, given what I had to work with. I have 3 white towels that just weren't so white anymore. Part of the problem was just age. Part of the problem was dark things that had bled onto them in the wash. (Yes, I wash stuff together on cold. Don't judge me.) I ordered this, in hopes of it restoring the whiteness. I didn't realize when I ordered it that it requires hot water in order to work. Which I don't have in my washing machine setup. The workaround was hot water in the kitchen sink. I used 3 pouches of this to a sink of hot water. Let them soak for about 30 mins. When i took them out, i could already see improvement. Then washed them in the washing machine on cold with double the usual liquid detergent and about triple the usual bleach. They are 99% white again. If my setup had been better, I'm sure my results would have been 100%. Definitely 5 stars. If this happens again, I'll definitely buy more

Doesn’t remove colors completely to white, but it does work to a certain level
I have a 100% cotton thin trench coat that’s reddish orange color that I wanted to remove the color and turn it to white so I could later on dye it to rose pink. I used the stovetop method with a big pot so the coat can be stirred around freely and covered with closed to boiling water and everything the right steps, put in 2 out of this 3 packs, and stirred constantly over an hour.. It’s turned into a kind of mustard color, Not remotely close to white, and I can see slight uneven spots all over the coat. Now I don’t know whether I should use the 1 box left to do the whole procedure again to take off more color or just leave it this mustard color. Since it’s not white, I can’t dye it rose pink color as I wanted, but at least this mustard color looks much better than its original reddish orange color. Maybe the formula should be stronger to be improved? Overall not very satisfied with the color removing result from this product. But it is the best deal here to get 3 packs of this, and if you just really don’t like your cloth’s current color and think any other color will be better, I’d recommend giving this a try still and you will get a better surprise color out of this.

Really effective
Really effective dye remover. I didn't follow the instructions on the packet which were for use in a washing machine Instead I filled a bucket with three kettles full of boiling water, topped up with very hot water. I dissolved the powder and put the garments in, stirring to make sure they were properly submerged. The colour lifted almost immediately. I covered the bucket and stirred occasionally, leaving it in for about 15 minutes. By this point most of the dye had been removed. I'm really impressed with this stuff and will definitely buy again.

My go to fabric colour remover! Always works!
Have used this many times and always get a guaranteed result…it’s a pain that it’s a stovetop method but it does get if not all then 95% colour out quickly and you can almost see it happening! Simple to use…(make sure you’re in a well ventilated area as it’s potent!) heat the water, add the powder, add the items (you need a big container and don’t overcrowd it, I have a large jam pan I use for this and only put 2 up to 5xl T-shirts in at once. My pan doesn’t have a lid so I cover it with tin foil to keep the temperature consistent and I’ve never had any problems.), yes it’s hot work and you have to keep it moving by stirring it and you really should use all metal stuff and only for non food but I find it’s worth it. I find sometimes you need to do it twice if the colour is strong but it’s the best on the market and doesn’t wreck the fibres and gives great consistency. I’m not one for always separating my whites from colours so everything slowly turns to grey or blue but one evening spent doing this to all my “white” clothes and they’re back to white again….even the ones with printed logos don’t lose much of the printed design colours so it really seems to only affect the cloth fibres. This time the aim was to remove P20 suncream stains from some old T-shirts as I’ve lost weight since I relegated them to the chores only pile due to the staining…now I have a load of pristine T-shirts again…just in time for the summer!
