A Weaver's Book of 8-Shaft Patterns: From the Friends of Handwoven

I've been looking for a good multi shaft weaving book and this is definitely it. So many awesome ideas in so many different weave structures. I'm sure this will be a favorite go to.

This is a very nice weaving book for anyone who understands shaft looms. It is high quality and printed on quality paper. The photos are clear in the instructions are excellent. This is one of my go-to books for weaving.

The only thing I dislike about this book is that the pictures are all black and white. Some of the intricate patterns are not discernable in b&w. Color would have been helpful.

When you're ready to dive into 8 shaft weaving, this is the classic standard! An endless number of patterns.

Without a doubt this is the best book avialable on 8-shaft patterns, and for that I am very grateful. However, without setting up my loom for the drafts in each section, reorganizing the treadles, and then weaving it, it is impossible for me to comprehend the attributes of 8-harness weaves over four. I had hoped I would be able to envision the draft for my intended project without countless hours and many months of experimentation. But, I am old, and my lack of understanding could be oversight. Perseverence, trial and error.
