Great Lakes Pure, Beef Gelatin, 16oz 4-Pack

This gelatin has been a great tool in getting my kids to eat more protein without the taste of meat. I use it in homemade fruit snacks, and it gives them more protein than a yogurt for their afternoon pick-me-up. I use it for homemade marshmallows, jello and a quick substitute when I don't have bone broth to drink. It is helpful with strengthening joints, weight loss and the health of hair and nails. Seriously amazing stuff! There's 6g of protein per Tbs. of gelatin powder. It gels quickly so I recommend heating part of the liquid you are putting it in as well as having an immersion blender (or a really quick, strong hand to whisk). Just a small warning with the fast gel action - it will clump if you add too much and don't start stirring right away. I highly recommend it nutritionally, and for that reason I give this product 5 stars.

I'm a repeat buyer of this top-quality gelatin. I put a level tablespoon of gelatin into a large mug, then add a bit of cold water, stirring until I make a smooth paste, adding a bit more water as needed. Then I pour in boiling or very hot water, and add a tea bag or a coffee substitute. The gelatin has no flavor when mixed this way, and it gives me a hefty, pure protein punch. I bought it initially to stop severe hair shedding that started after I underwent weeks of radiation therapy for cancer. Within a week after starting the gelatin, the fallout stopped and the shedding went back to normal. It has been normal ever since. I'm very pleased with the results, and pleased with the added increase in energy that it very often gives me.

This is an excellent product for people looking to increase their collagen production which is proven to be really important for joint care and skin health. I got 4 of these and also I used the hydrolyses form (green box) of it. They are both great. You should use this in a warm/hot water, but you can use the green one in colder water as well. As I said they are both amazing, and I definitely recommend it.

I have 1 and a 1/2 TBS. of Great Lakes Gelatin in the afternoon in the form of mixing it with juice and refrigerating it so it gels up and tastes like Jello basically. I use also 1 Tablespoon of Great Lakes Collagen Hydrolysate (not this product!) with my coffee in the morning. There is hardly any difference in taste - however I say that in context of not being a coffee snob. It tastes slightly more milky to me. The people who complain about trying to mix Gelatin in beverages don't realize that gelatin gels - it's not meant to be ingested that way. Get the Collagen Hydrolysate if you want to mix it in beverages. I did have some knee problems (age 50) - I ran on curbs in the city 10 miles a week. Then, I put my treadmill at my work and ran on it instead. I no longer have joint problems but I don't know if it's due to these joint products that I began at the same time or due to my treadmill change.

I originally purchased this item for a recipe and I wanted high quality gelatin. Then I read the label and saw how high the collagen and protein % per tablespoon was and decided to use it as a daily supplement. I scoop 1 tblsp in my morning matcha with some coconut sugar and coconut oil and breakfast is set. I love, love love this product. Easy to order, comparable price and was delivered sooner than what I expected. Very happy!

I am amazed at how quickly I noticed the difference within my body after beginning taking the Unflavored Gelatin Beef Kosher! The instructions call for 2 TBS/day, but after beginning the regimen, I contacted the company via email to ask if I could add more, since my body was depleted during the afternoon. The company responded immediately to my email, and stated that it was possible to take up to 9 TBS/day, for example of you have a condition that compromises your joints, such as Arthritis. I balanced my dosage to 4 TBS/day, and shared some with a friend and my daughter. My second order was for 4 one pound containers. I plan on ordering a larger amount, because I used or shared all of the gelatin a few days ago, and am waiting for the deliver which is due today. GREAT, HEALING PRODUCT!!! My method for mixing the gelatin is to add 1 TBS to 1/4 to 1/3 Cup of cold water, add hot water to fill cup, add fresly grated ginger, and a 1/2 tsp of Organic Coconut Oil (I use Nutiva's brand). Another alternative is to substitute Lemon for the Ginger, be creative!

I was using Knox gelatin before I found the Unflavored Gelatin by Great Lakes. The Great Lakes Gelatin is far superior and it does help with my joint pain. You do need to take it on a regular basis for it to be effective. I found that by dissolving it in cold water then heating it over low heat works best for me. Sprinkling it into the water a little at a time, let it dissolve the repeat until I get the amount I want/need has worked well.

I’ve been using Great Lakes products for several years and swear by them now. This Gelatin is the best . . .

Wonderful product, using it for me and for my old animals that had hard time walking with joint problems. They don’t require any surgery any more! Label is changed, but same good old product.

We use this product to set home made yogurt. We get the health benefit of gelatin in a good tasting yogurt.
