Teacher Created Resources SpellChecked Card Game (EP66111)

This is a fun game that makes spelling memorable! The cards are thicker, so they don’t tear and the quality of the box is cute and functional. I like the wide range of difficulty as my 5yr old could participate and so could adults, so the age range is large and would work for homeschool families that have a variety of age gaps or in a classroom setting. Definitely worth the money when you want to help with spelling and make it fun.

It’s like flashcards but better because it has a twist! It is super simple to play and we have augmented the rules. You pick a color deck (the decks range from easy to expert) and someone is the spellchecker and tally point counter. The spellchecker holds everyone’s deck except their own. The rest of the players take turns clockwise being the checker during the spellchecker’s turn. There are two sides. The front shows a picture. If you can ID the image and then spell it spelling B style then you get 5 points. If you turn the card over and choose the correct spelling by sight then you get 4 ( this side has three choices 1,2,and 3 each with the word spelled similarly with only one correct number) and If you only ID the image you get 3 points. The person with 20 points first wins. My girl is 7 and does not like spelling, but she was having fun playing for a solid 20 minutes. The game says play to 30 points, but that was just a little too long for us the first go around. I can already tell this is going to be an excellent game to help her spell words on her own with assistance if needed. She does not feel frustrated playing this game, so I highly recommend it!

PROS: Simple to play. Good educational value. The point system and spelling challenge keeps kids motivated to play. CONS: Keeping cards organized (timely cleanup)

This game is great fun to play with my kid

We use this in homeschooling for 3rd grade. Every day, we pull out a card, the student writes the spelling word on a paper, and gets immediate correction on that spelling. If the spelling is correct the first time, the card gets filed into the back done, if its spelled incorrectly, then that word is repeated the following day along with a new word. I like that if you go in order the words get progressively harder. Perfect!

Amazing game!Educational

This is a great game. We use it for homeschool but my kids ask to play it often for fun. They like to use their marker boards and write the words out and then spell them out. We don't keep score but just do this for fun. I would definitely recommend for schooling and a family game for fun. My 11 year old finds it really easy until the further colored levels. Anyone over 12/13 may not enjoy just because it will become too easy. Just depends on spelling level.

Wonderful game. I use this with my mixed-grade classroom. We have had as many as 4 different grade levels play at the same time, and the students love it. The rules are simple, it is fun to play, and I can see progress in my students. I just wish there were other editions of the same game. I would purchase it in a heartbeat.
