This is a great STEM type of learning toy for kids. Kids learn how the connections work through being creative. A great way to spend quality time with the kids.

Our grandson, who only turned 5 a few months ago, loved this set Christmas morning. I built circuits with him for quite some time and then he started building his own. He even grabbed some wrapping paper and drew a circuit diagram on the back of one of his creations. He spent hours on Sunday (we had Christmas early) with it before we put it up and has worked with it every day since. He built one circuit with multiple devices in it and found it worked when the switch was OFF and stopped when it was turned ON. He'd built a circuit that worked without the switch and when he turned the switch ON it short circuited the whole thing, so there was another lesson learned. We had one part that intermittently failed to work which created a little difficulty just b/c due to the inconsistency it was hard to pin down which part was defective but this set definitely deserves two thumbs up!

The Snap Circuits 3D Illuminations set is actually our first experience with Snap Circuits, and we have not been disappointed. I bought this for my 10 year old daughter who loves to create and wants to explore with inventing. She loves this set and has been able to complete most of the projects on her own. As a homeschool mom, I love that this is educational as well as fun. The projects start very short and basic to increasingly more difficult and involved. The instructions offer two different views for most of the projects, which is helpful. All of the pieces are labeled and easily identified. The only downside I have see so far is that he pieces connecting the sides to the base are quite difficult to get on and off, even for me. Overall, a great product. We will definitely be purchasing other Snap Circuit sets!

I have used these snap circuits in my classroom for years! They are super for self directed play and learning but young children will benefit from a little supervision. I recently bought two for my grandsons and knew they would love them! They do! These kits are well made and fairly sturdy. There are lots of parts, but each part fits into its own compartment. So the kit provides a good learning tool in showing children the value of carefully putting parts away as well!

This is for a classroom science class. Currently, I have a nine year old "testing" it. He loves the projects, but is frustrated trying to get the walls to fit properly into their holders. I generally have to help and it takes a bit to get the walls properly connected. The experiments, however, are absolutely wonderful!!!! The light tunnel is especially a great hit!

Bought as a gift for my grandson. He loves it. Just perfect for him.

My six-year-old son, Jason, loves this set so much that he wanted to write the review. I told him he needed to read his review for a video, too, which he thought was cool (but scary). Here's what he wrote--you can see him reading it in the video since he got pretty nervous about trying to memorize it, which is still way better than I could have done at his age. All the words were written by him in about 20 minutes and he only spelled one word incorrectly. Here goes: Hi, I'm Jason and I'm six. Here are three reasons that I like Snap Circuits 3D. 1. You can build upwards. 2. There is also a light tunnel that actually looks like a tunnel, a sensing mirror, a horn, and a projector. 3. It contains 50 parts and you can build over 150 exiting [this was the mispelling] projects like the three walled house and the angled roof house. [Steve's note: we have the 750 piece SnapCircuits set that Jason's older siblings got started with, so this new set works well with that one, too. Jason is very glad to have one of his "own" to play with without asking permission!]

We gave our 9 year old his first Snap Circuits in December. He had loved them so much we decided to give him another kit for his birthday. He loves it! He's learning electronics while having fun with child-friendly pieces!

My 11yr old grandson is extremely keen with puzzles ,Lego and assorted construction challenges. This set was added to the original set we bought him for Christmas. Great choice!
