Great alternative matte screen protector
I liked it a lot. It’s $18 on Amazon, but usually there’s a 10% coupon you can apply. Positive 1. Easy to put on and take off. I’m terrible at putting on other screen protectors, always getting dusts and bubbles. 2. Have cutouts for all the sensors. 3. Magnetic hold it in place very well and it’s not going to move around when touch it. 4. Easy to clean, just wipe with water and dry. 5. I like the feels of the matte side. Drawing on it is satisfying. Feels and sounds like drawing on paper. Also feels nice to touch with my fingers. 6. Reduce glare and fingerprints. 7. It comes with a plastic folder to keep the screen protector when not in use. 8. Comes with alcohol wipe, microfiber cloths, sticker dust remover. Negative 1. It does wash out the display a bit like any other matte screen protector, but you can always take it off to watch a video. 2. A minor thing is the magnetic strips are a bit thicker, but it doesn’t affect the usability.

Love this purchase!
I have always battled between using a tempered glass screen protector for the nice screen quality versus using a PaperLike one for the ease of taking notes for school/drawing, and now I don’t have to choose! My package came beautifully unbent and with everything they said it comes with, minus the sticker that tells you which side is up (but it’s not hard to tell which side goes up as it will feel more rough). It’s so easy to install, I just wipe of my glass screen protector beforehand and the magnetic screen protector stays in place very well on top. The friction is very nice and my writing is SO much smoother than without it. Best part is at the end of the day when I’m all done with my notes I can take it off and have the original quality back of my iPad display. So overall I am really liking it so far. Only time will tell on how it wears down the Apple Pencil tip but just in case I bought extra tips and nib covers. I really recommend this screen protector for anyone who is like me and indecisive about having quality of display versus quality of writing/drawing. Will update if anything happens to go wrong but so far this is a complete win!

Decent Alternative (with flaws)
Lets start with the good - Texture - Has a nice gritty feel to it that simulates a rough paper feel. It doesn't seem overdone so it shouldn't be too much grit. It also brings that scratchy sound out (which is a good thing) Easy to install - Magnets are easy to align and guide themselves into place so installations pretty simple. However given that these are magnets it comes with some drawbacks. Bad- Weak magnets- the magnets do a good job of keeping the protector in place while using it but boy are they ready to slip off given the chance. A case that has magnets in it has a tendency to lift it off and slide out of place. Any amount of sliding pressure with your fingers will also move it off. Glaze over the screen- between the screen and protector and glass there is a noticeable air gap that creates this light gray haze over the screen. It's not as visible when the screen's on, but in any situation outdoors it becomes a massive problem, introducing blurry reflections much more visible than regular glass. Decreased screen sensitivity- I'm an artist so precision and stability are pretty important. This protector does a number on both. (2021 iPad Pro btw) I find myself having to repeatedly press the same button to change tools, or sometimes strokes won't register. It can very easily turn into my reason to lay down my iPad for the night. But it does provide that nice texture to draw on which gives a slight edge in control, if it didn't have this issue, I'd use it a lot more. Adds some protection, but given that this is a film protector, don't expect it to work miracles. Conclusion- pretty solid product but it has some issues, they aren't deal-breakers but just things to keep in mind as they can be a bit frustrating from time to time. Would I recommend it? Sure, it's not horrible, and it does what it's supposed to. That's the bottom line.

Works as intended, but please read…
If you want a paper-feel screen protector without the difficulty of installing a traditional one then this works very well. However - if you have a magnetic case, it will remove the screen protector when you close and open the case so be aware of that. But the beauty of this item means it can be removed and replaced as needed. What I would suggest, is you clean your iPad screen then carefully align two corners and let the screen protector fall into place. Then take a soft cloth and gently wipe towards the edges in case any air got stuck underneath, this will leave it nice and a smooth for usage. It feels lovely to draw on and did not wash out the colors as much as some people suggested it did, it actually leaves the screen looking nice and matte. It also doesn’t move when being used, as long as it is carefully installed properly. I would definitely recommend this for those who hate installing screen protectors and want the option to remove it and replace it whenever the want to.

This is perfect drawing screen protector
This screen protector is perfect, the fact that it’s magnetic is perfect, yes it can get stuck in a magnetic case, but thats how magnets work, but honestly it doesn’t matter, this works perfectly and you can even use it with a glass screen protector on by just putting this over it and its great, the added ability of being able to remove it and us the iPad as normal makes it well worth the price and the 5 stars, I would give it 6 if I could, if you are in the market for something like this it lets you have the best of both worlds.

2018 version was amazing, 2021 version is bad
UPDATE: Sorry to say, I prefer the 2018 version with two magnets. It lasted for months and months before I tried installing a new version. The new STARY 2021 version has a rougher texture and doesn't stay attached to the screen like it did before. Sad 😔 (Old review for 2018 version) Nice clarity, easy to install & remove but holds very firmly in place. Love the texture for digital art. After a month of heavy use, it hardly shows any signs of wear. Simply wipe it down with a damp microfiber cloth. Additionally, it seems to be preserving my pencil nib more than the others I've used.

The best. Simply, the best (of a not very good pack of competitors).
I have installed dozens of matte screen protectors over the years. I am a (very)amateurish artist and use IPad Pros,12.9 inch variety, with Procreate and other graphic apps. The matte screen protector, to me, is a unfortunate necessity to counter the slippery screen and stylus issue. All of the previous iterations worked for a few weeks or months, but had two major problems: installing them was a nightmare and required the patience of a Tibetan monk and a space devoid of cat dander, dust, and, I suspect, air. Then, there was this magnificent Apple-proud screen, dulled by the screen condom. Then there is this product. The install still requires the airless room, but since it uses magnetic strips to hold the screen down and is easily removed, that is less of a problem. The install takes about three minutes, if you take your sweet time with it, about 30 seconds otherwise. The finish is as good as any “paper-like” screen protectors that I have tried and if you dislike watching your pornography or Fox News through a filter, you simply remove the screen, place it back in the provided envelope and enjoy those bright pixels. The screen’s magic magnets hold firmly otherwise. There is no slippage. I am a newbie fan of this product.

Figured it out but now it's giving me so much grief
The directions say to make sure you put it with the front up but there's no indication which side is up or down!? I've tried it both ways and I can't really tell so I have no idea if I'm using it right. Edit: I figured out the more smooth side goes against the iPad screen and have been loving it. The magnet strength is a little weaker than I would have hoped (I wanted to stick it to the back of the iPad when I wasn’t using it) and sometimes it causes a tiny bit of a lag, but it dramatically improves the writing experience and I LOVE that I can remove it when I want to enjoy the brilliant screen unfiltered! Would definitely buy again. Editing again: I'm now spoiled and hate the feel of my pencil on the naked glass, but far too often the lag drives me insane. I have to practically smack the screen to get the pencil to register on top of the small space between the protector and the glass. It's incredibly frustrating. And, of course, as I tried to record how it fails to register the pencil strokes with the cover on it magically started being responsive again. I took a star away because I'm going to have to buy another one because I can't go back to writing on bare glass but this one didn't even last a full year.

Gets the job done but ONLY halfway
This is a review by a professional artist. 7/10 total For drawing - 6.5/10 Anti glare is - 7.5/10 (It doesn't get removed if you have a magnetic cover anymore, so dont worry, because they have strips on the top so it stays, for people wondering any magnetic keyboard works) Critics below 1)Anti glare isnt the best, there is partial reflection and i can tell because i have a full anti glare laptop but yeah it prevents fingerprints on screen, so im content 2) for drawing the surface is waay to coarse this causes the residue from nib to stay on screen protector so no go for me, if you want to use for drawing just take it off and draw on glass, i always draw on glass, you get used to it guys don't worry glass is always best. 3)clarity wise its a little bit grainy and reduces brightness by a bit, so not a lot. Its same as the screen protectors offered by paperlike etc Personal opinions If you want to use for drawing get paperlike or some other permanent screen protector but yeah thats permanent, otherwise this is ok for me since main problem for me on ipad was the constant glare and fingerprints being left on screen so im satisfied

surface as slippery as glass
I was hoping to get a paperlike feel with added resistance when using pencil and the option to remove it when needed. You get a slightly rough texture but it ends up as slippery as drawing on plain glass. So for me it's pretty useless.

Not worth it
The product had clearly been used before. There was no way to indicate which side was up or down which could lead to scratching the screen. When emailing customer support, I did not get any response. The protector also degrades the screen appearance significantly and I did not feel any benefit over just writing on a glass surface.

Makes my writing harder
Maybe I still haven't got used to using it but basically it makes the pen moves much slower, harder and will create noise while writing...
