If they don't come with the cattle, he may be hung..that's all he wrote, but one of the words "Higginess" was a word they used when trouble is a brewing.A really fast moving action action packed adventure of these Mountain Sacketts. Lots of wisdom these men carried. Tell has fought in the war of the state's and he fought for the Union. He was around sixteen years old, fighting with the sixth Calvary. He never went back home, but decided he wanted to see the West. Tell and Ty are delivering the cattle from the United States to British Columbia where there were miners who were very low on provisions. A gang of claim jumpers had taken over the mining area, hoping to starve the miners into leaving and then this gang could file on their claims as abandoned. These men hid and followed Tell, Ty and Lon who was their Chinese cook, Cap, Brandy, the rest were cowpunchers earning a few dollars.This is a great reading of adventure with lots of historical information. Beautiful descriptions of their surroundings and so elegantly described by Tell, even though he continues to say he doesn't have that much education, it doesn't stop him from living and enjoying his surroundings.William Tell Sackett reminds me of Gary Cooper, tall, lean hip and wide shoulders; you'll know how Gary Cooper never got excited always calm, but deadly...just a thought if Gary was still alive, would like to see this movie. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars When I was eleven and took the rifle down from its perch where my Daddy always hung it *by K***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 24, 2014* And went hunting in search of something to shoot I was a Sackett before I knew what a Sackett was. This is a good read but not being familiar with the land sometimes it gets a little hard to work out where everyone on the mountain is at any given time. I like some of his other books more because of the local not the characters which I love. I never met a bad Sackett although Nolan might be part bad.
