It's big because of the voltage to supports what Japanese electronic item you'll use, but I bought this for the heater under my kotatsu table. If you read every info provided before you buy and do your homework on the voltage and how to use and convert, you'll be fine. If you're worried about the big box being in the way just be creative with the placement, I bought this for my kotatsu table so it's like a coffee table. I put it around the corner or behind my table or couch. My kotatsu table has a long enough cord, and the converter is the same.

received yesterday for my amp from japan, what i like about it is the size and just simple switch On an OFF. I have power strip which is controlled by main amp and therefore whole audio system is turned ON and Off by one command.

This is a great product I bought it so that I can set up a heater under my table and it has been working well since I bought it. I would say to those who use it it does get heated if you leave it on for long period of time so remember when not in use turn it to the off setting.

The 1000W step-down transformer works great - I bought the transformer to power the heating element in my Kotatsu, and I have had no issues operating it thus far. The only complaint I have is a minor one - the prongs on the 100V outlet are so tight that I had to force the plug into the socket. It was difficult enough to plug in that, before forcing the plug, I had to search online to see if I was using the correct plug type (I was).

I have a Japanese rice cooker (from Japan) with an induction sensor. The sensor was having issues detecting the inner pot. The transformer fixed the problem.

Bought this to provide proper voltage to a piece of Japanese audio equipment which runs, obviously, an their standard 100/60. As the piece in question is a turntable (Sony TTS 8000/SAEC WE308), it is very susceptible to line noise, hum, etc and needs the proper current/voltage to operate properly. This item fills the bill perfectly for my purposes. There is, however, only one outlet available. This is true for both the 100 and 120 outlets (it will automatically step up or step down, though I doubt any users in this country would have need of the step up feature). It is fairly high current capable. At turnon, there is an initial hum (thereafter quiet), so if using in an audio system I would suggest turning it on prior to any amplification(not that the hum is particularly strong or spikey).

Item is able to sufficiently provide power for my 300W* kotatsu heating unit. Please note that if you are purchasing this for an item such as a heating unit, there is sometimes a recommendation for an allowance of a peak current spike value 2-3x the typical draw of the appliance. In this case, the recommended allowance was 3x, which would be 900W. Such draws are common when first powering a device on, so if you intend to power multiple devices with this, I would recommend starting with the ones most likely to start with a large power draw. *EDIT: I'm not sure where I got the 300W value from. I don't see it readily listed on this page, it may have been a seller comment on a similar item. I'll see if I can find a source for it when I get home, but I have not had any problems running this on a 1000W transformer.

realiza la funcion que dice. muy silencioso (de menos no he escuchado el clacico bzzzz que generan los transformadores). lo uso para un vaporizador que compre de japon, lo usamos para dormir y funciona bien.
