Amazing value, well designed product! Wish it was Assembled in USA
The Good: - It is a nice looking unit, light weight and VERY capable. -Came with 2 sample-sized solution jars and right out of the box you can start using it after 10 minutes of basic assembly. - Came with a long 8 foot hose for the accessory nozzle and even came with a nifty storage back that is intended to be hung in a closet... really like the bag! The Bad: - The expression "they don't make em like they used too" perfectly applies to this Hoover; a brand once synonymous with long lasting, well made, durable quality. Their is no a single metal piece on this unit. You can tell it was well engineered and does everything exactly as advertised. No question......It comes down to the parts.... how they feel, how it will hold up. The embarrassingly cheap china plastic handle feels like dollar store grade. The trigger for the "extra clean" function is so stiff, it requires almost 2 hands to push it down...maybe it will wear in after time? The bottom piece that houses the rollers... you guessed it... CHEAP china plastic... dollar store quality. It is a good looking unit and was engineered well but because of the parts, we shall see how it holds up over time. As a Hoover, I really was hoping this unit would have been assembled in the USA but unfortunately it wasn't. I would still recommend this unit but if you're expecting "your parents Hoover" or the ones they used to use in school, think again. Not a single metal piece on this unit and it neither good for the environment nor is it good as far as product quality. That said, it works incredibly well, especially for $119 currently on sale!

Amazing Value
This thing is incredible for vacuuming up all the hair and debris in my carpeted bedroom and area rug in living room. The amount of hair it pulled out from my 13 lbs cat (and let’s be real also from my own head) is unreal. It heats up nicely for drying the carpet after and seems it will be pretty easy to clean and self propel compared to Bissell models I’ve used. One bit of advice is make sure the handle which holds the clean water tank is locked in place. I didn’t realize it was unlocked during my first use and water dripped everywhere - took me a bit to figure out why it happened. After that it was a breeze!

Good suction on flat carpets, brushes are a pain to clean per instructions.
So, my Hoover carpet cleaner just arrived a couple of hours ago, and I have done two carpets with it. Here are my thoughts…. I previously had a single brush unit. Suction was poor, the brush was hard to clean, and it did a marginal job. I gave it away. I got this unit because of the 2-brush system. My first carpet is the kind with designs woven into it (Berber?) It did a fair job. Water in the pick-up container was pretty dirty. I had some ‘wear’ spots which were pretty dirty. It didn’t clean them completely, but they are cleaner. Yes, I did the spot treatment. I might try the upholstery cleaner on them tomorrow. Water pick-up wasn’t great, but that is because of the uneven carpet, not the fault of the unit. The other carpet is one of those 10x10 Cabela’s room rugs, with the animals and squares and such. Low pile, fairly thin, no foam or anything on the bottom. The unit did a better job on this. Suction was VERY good, like a waterfall being picked up. 30 minutes later you could barely tell it was still wet even in bare feet. Dirty water bin was filthy with dirt and such. Complaints: It does not suck up the pet hair it lifts up. There was almost none in the dirty water bin. It DOES toss little bundles of hair off to the side. Now, I did a double vacuum job before I started. I went up and down, then cross-ways with a pretty good Dyson upright. I had to clean the dust bin, which was full of hair, so I know it was doing its’ job. I have a yellow lab, and the Cabela’s carpet is pretty dark, so you can see the hair when it is dirty. So, if you have pets that shed, you will have to vacuum again when you are done. I picked up about ½ cup of fur. But, hey, it did get the fur out of the carpet, so there is that. Last complaint: When will the engineers understand we NEED to clean the brushes when we are done. I read the instructions, and I think you had to remove about 8 screws and slip the belts off. Didn’t sound like a 5 minute job. The pick-up nozzle IS easy to get off and clean. So, I took the bins off, and brought the unit outside and used the hose. That cleaned the brushes in about 3 minutes. I recommend that procedure, or, if you don’t have a yard, maybe in the tub. Regardless, it is much easier. Unit went together very easily. No screws, just snap the pieces in place. Bins are easy to take out and fill or empty. It is not hard to push and pull around. It was WELL packaged, I can’t see it being damaged in shipping. Instructions were clear and easy to follow. My 4-Star rating is based on spitting out the hair, and difficulty in cleaning the brushes (if you follow the instructions). I am not sorry I bought it, and would buy it again.

Great Cleaner For The Price. Very Simple To Use & Cleans Very Well
I finally got around to using it and I really like it. This one replaced a Bissell with lots of bells and whistles, but I like this one better because the Hoover is lighter and makes it much easier to remove and clean the return tank, and fill the separate water tank. Also pet hairs don't gum up the works. Did a great job cleaning several big rugs. Looking forward to using it on our carpets.

Made mama happy!
The wife just had to have a cat, but I didn't want a cat, so we compromised and got a cat... A cat that pees everywhere but the litter box apparently. My old carpet washing machine gave up the ghost late last year so this poor woman was cleaning up cat pee with the little green handheld unit. Then factor in 2 little boys and 2 large dogs. Dry vacuuming 3 times a week gave us a false sense of cleanliness until the day this baby was delivered. The wife was so happy to have a machine that would save her back and our carpets. Upon using it the first time she was sending me pictures at work of how the carpet in the boy's rooms changed back to its original color! The filthy brown water coming out of the carpets destroyed our previous sense of cleanliness, but gave us new hope that our home would not be so bad in the future. The wife loves to clean and this machine makes her very happy. Getting rid of the smell of cat urine makes me even happier. I still don't like the cat but the wife does. So make your wife happy and your carpets clean with this easy to operate machine.
