Solar-Laderegler
Works as advertised, but can get very hot and give errors.
Using with Renogy solar panels, this works very well. Just make sure to mount vertically, or it will give over-heating errors. The Heat sink in the back needs to be able to dissipate the heat. With a proper installation, it's reliable, quiet and easy to use.

Excellent MPPT Upgrade, Easy Setup, and Better Low-Light Performance
I bought this Renogy 60A MPPT charge controller on April 4, 2025, and after 11 months of use I’m very happy with it. It was a great upgrade from my old Tristar 45 PWM controller and has been noticeably more efficient. My old PWM controller struggled early in the morning, near sunset, and during cloudy weather. This Renogy starts charging much sooner and handles lower-light conditions far better. It keeps my battery voltage right where it should be. I bought the 60A model even though it was more than I needed at the time because I wanted room to expand my solar setup later. No regrets there. Right now I’m using it with a 140Ah 12V LiFePO4 battery and a 350W solar panel. Installation and setup were very easy, and the menus are clear and simple to use. I haven’t used every feature yet, like data logging, but based on my experience so far, this has been an excellent purchase.

Product is good but customer service gave me a total headache
I like this controller and ovr time, I have purchased three versions of it for myself and bought one for a relative as a gift last year. It connects easily and I appreciate being able to see basic charging info. However, be aware that if you have problems, from a blown circuit (or whatever happened to my first unit- I'm not an electrician) or God forbid, make a return request (my relative didn't want it and went in a different direction), you must be prepared to waste a tremendous amount of time dealing with Renogy. You'll have to fight to get anything resolved. When my first controller died, and I still don't know why, I contacted the company to see if they could trouble shoot or if I had any options with my warranty. They made me send tons of written info, pictures, purchase info (they can't see what I did with Amazon?) etc. After a couple of weeks and multiple emails, they said nope, sorry- it was out of warranty. Why couldnt they have started with that?! I was annoyed, but accepted it and moved on. The next two units I bought (a 40A and a 60A) worked right out of the box, and they are working for me at this very moment, no issues. Fast forward to the last unit. I requested a return because my relative didn't want it and had waited a month to tell me that. Amazon clearly said that there is an extended period to return this item bc it was bought during the Christmas season. It was after 30 days, but before the final deadline. Thank goodness I screenshotted that info! I noticed on Renogy's item description that they only gave you 30 days (and the item must not have used at all) and that beyond that, you needed "special permission" to return. I didnt want to take any chances so I contacted them directly. I told them it was brand new, never used. They gave me a HUGE run around. How does this make sense... I told them it was still in the factory wrap in the factory sealed box, so clearly it was in perfect condition. They made me open the box and TAKE PICTURES of the unit to prove it was new?!!! I had to send all screenshots of my Amazon contact and of Amazon's promise of an extended return window. I sent at least 8 pictures all told. Why couldn't they access this info, or just know it? I'm not kidding- I wasted so much time putting it all together. Multiple emails in between. I jumped through every hoop they asked me to, and was not getting any concrete resolution. I finally called Amazon directly and told them what was happening. They assured me that the return was OK, and THEY refunded me. However, to this day, the item still reads "waiting for return", even though a rep at Renogy finally told me in an email that they got the unit back. I have the screenshot of the post office tracking that marked it "delivered" to them too. I was still stressed until I got my credit card bill that showed that everything was ok. Note: Amazon went the extra mile for me on this too- I had purchased an extended warranty on this controller and figured Assurion would just keep my money, so why fight it? Amazon automatically refunded that to me too. I almost fell over with gratitude. So, to end my book here- if you buy anything from Renogy, make sure you REALLY want it. I just saw today that they are charging a 10% restocking fee if you try to return something. Ridiculous- stand behind your product or get out of the space, Renogy. Pray to the solar gods that the items you order work because when they do, they are awesome. However, the company was a total pain to deal with if you need any assistance. I will avoid purchasing from them again if possible.
