True, Rich, Nitro Colors
Absolutely essential for recreating the exact colors found on your American made guitars made in association with one Lester Paul! They have a couple different colors of the black and shouldn’t have an issue in deciphering which one is suitable. My first introduction was for a Gibson SG Supreme nonetheless and found the color to be exact and rich. Please note, if you wish to maintain the integrity of the serial number, cover it up after the first coat with painters tape then blend it upon wet sanding.

StewMac - that basically says it all! Just perfect.
I could copy paste this review for anything from StewMac. I've been shopping with them for years and years! Customer service is beyond outstanding. If there's a problem they take care of it, If it wasn't even remotely their fault, they still take care of it. Rare to see such a committed Make the Customer Happy policy! As for this lacquer.... it is professional grade and I get professional results. It is not the cheapest and it performs like a premium product. Please don't skimp on paints and clears - it is never worth the savings. Buy the good stuff - and this is the good stuff. If you aren't practiced spraying lacquer, please research it, practice on scrap first, and most importantly USE A PROPER MASK! This lacquer is more than up to the task of a top grade finish - the end result is at this point up to the technique and skill of the person using it.

Good stuff...and..
The best you can find. Just remember to warm the can with a hot water soak for 10 minutes. This will prevent orange peel, and thin the spray out to avoid clumps. Pay attention to your ambient temperature when applying. Its finicky. Follow the instructions.

As good as the effort you put in
This review is also for the tobacco brown, red mahogany and aged clear as well as the clear satin. The mist is quite good when the can is fresh, providing good coverage. When it gets lower, the mist can get a little splotchy and nerve wracking, requiring frequent soaking the can in warm water. I also noticed some cans come with a really good tip and some come with a lower quality tip making it sort of a crap shoot. The colors quickly build and especially for the tobacco brown and become murky. Carefully accounting for temperature and humidity is required as well as wind. If any of these things are ignored something will absolutely go wrong. As you know this product is extremely toxic and good ventilation and protection is required. I’m not going to go over how to apply it because this is already extensively available elsewhere but needless to say you can get a decent result from this product if you put the work in. My results were decent but I didn’t shine it up too much because i like some character. Here is my upright bass completely refinished and electric bass neck refinished.

This stuff is great but very fragile
Shipping took WAY too long. Price is about the same as the total with shipping direct from Stew Mac. Product is fantastic. I’d say its as good or better than Minwax brushing laquer in aerosol. In particular, this has the aged look. It can be layered enough to get a very dark look or it can be very light. The qty in the can is also a proper amount. It sprays very well until you get close to the end of the can, then it does start to spatter a bit but if you just shake it very well, you can get pretty close to every last drop. Obviously you want to make sure you have another can to continue the process.

AWESOME!!!
I got this for a Telecaster build that I wanted to have that vintage look. I couldn't be more happy. It was easy to apply, dries quick, the nozzle is easy to use and sprays a great pattern, and it looks awesome. Would buy again for a future build. A+.
