Has anyone compared the perceived effects of this product against switching to a heavier oil weight?

depending on how old your vehicle is, and specifically if it was built in the last 20 years, I wouldn’t switch to a heavier weight oil. the industry has moved to lighter weight oils for multiple reasons, one of course is economy since lighter weight oils have less friction, but also because modern engines have much tighter tolerances and parts, and a thicker oils can do much harm. Final note, and it’s difficult to say if this was an issue or not for the previous person answering, but you should adhered strictly to the instructions for this product… the product should be warm, the vehicle at full operating temp etc etc, otherwise, yes, it’ll just drop to the bottom of the oil pan.

Was anyone's gloppy when it came out? It seemed that one of the elements had coagulated.

Yes. Pink gel stuck to the bottom of the container when it arrived; had to be scraped out with an awl. I've used this product successfully multiple times, yes it does work - but that congealed element is THE critical element. I had success with putting a pot of water on the stove on medium heat, letting the material soak in hot water for 15m, then shaking it vigorously for a few minutes (WHILE WEARING AN OVEN MITT.) Mixed appropriately and worked great.

I have a scored cylinder wall - will XADO help fill up the cracks in the wall?

It might... it will depend on how bad the cylinder wall(s) are scored. Something caused the the problem to begin with. That said... you could spend the bucks and give it a try and see if it helps. If not, get the all the cylinders redone (honed and new piston rings) and re-treat the motor for longevity sake. The stuff works.

Ich kenne mich weder mit Motoren aus noch bin ich KFZler noch ist das eine Profi Meinung. Ich habe das Additiv damals schon in meinem Audi B6 Avant probiert. Ob man es glaubt oder nicht wurde der öl verbrauch dadurch deutlich verringert. Jetzt habe ich einen Ford Focus MK3 der ziemlich unrund lief und viel "gestottert" hat. Hab mich an das Additiv hier erinnert und einfach gekauft und rein damit. Und was soll ich sagen die Kiste läuft finde ich viel ruhiger. Was mit dem Motor passiert kann ich natürlich nicht sagen. Auch eine spürbare Verringerung des Durchschnittsverbrauches würde ich nicht behaupten wollen. Aber wie gesagt läuft er ruhiger.

Buen aditivo. Lleva una parte más densa, en forma de tiras redondas, cortas, como de cera, que es de mal gestionar, para verterlo el el motor. Lo usé en un Renault 21 2 litros inyección, con 330.000 kms. Ahora el motor va más suave y silencioso. El aceite se ensucia menos, o tarda más.
