Is the blond roast espresso coffee?

No. Espresso is a dark roast. Blonde is light. Blonde also has more caffeine.

Does anyone just mix the powder with hot coffee/espresso? I would like something quick in the morning and I don't want to have to make syrup first.

Yes, I mix the powder directly with the espresso coming out of the machine, then add hot milk for my mocha. I used to make syrup but it goes bad quickly, within days, even when kept in the fridge, hence, the direct mix. Makes no difference in taste, but you have to stir it well to prevent settling in the drink.

ingredients-wise, it's the same as the Starbucks Cocoa Powder; however, i was wondering if anyone knows if they taste the same or different?

This powder is the same as the mocha powder they use to make there chocolate for there mochas. I used to work for the company. Now if your making your own mocha at home it may not taste the same because your coffee is different or its not brewed correctly but to all those out there this is the same stuff they use in the store.
