Image stabilization is a game changer!
Several of my golf buddies have range finders from Blue Tees and Bushnell. These are all fabulous range finders with their own sets of pros and cons, so when it came time to buy my own I wanted to see what other options existed. The Nikon is a bit pricey (not so much when compared to a top of the line Bushnell) but the image stabilization is an absolute game changer. With both the blue tees and the Bushnell, the range finding is fine but I always found from over 150 yds out, that getting a stable mark on the pin is challenging. Jolt and (insert marketing term for being locked on to a target here) is helpful in increasing confidence you've shot the right thing. But nothing compares to seeing the pin through a stable image and shooting it directly. Couple that with the nice green ring and pleasant chirp you get when locked on and I now have 100% confidence what I've measured is an accurate number. Optics are fabulous, easily as good as any Bushnell I've come across. The display is extremely crisp and bright. The diopter adjustment is great, easy to change, but holds its position so it does not fall out of place. Its also a small form factor compared to the BlueTees or higher end Bushnell and feels wonderful in the hand. Cons are few and mostly begin and end with no integrated magnet and a somewhat low aesthetic value (but otherwise well made) included case. That said, its water-proof so setting it down on the fair-way while I take my next shot has never concerned me. There are 4 modes that are confusing to begin with, but make sense after a few-round which is the only reason I rated this range finder 4 stars for easy-to-use. Tldr: This is fantastic, high-quality range-finder on par with any Bushnell product I've seen. The image stabilization plus green ring and chirp set this apart and make it in my opinion the best range-finder currently on the market.

Great product and works so well
Love the image stabilization and picking a range when playing golf. Nice clear view and easy to pick out the pin and get a reading. Easy to use. Battery last a long time. No complaints. Would recommend.

Buying Another One As A Gift. THE BEST RANGE FINDER!!
So everyone that’s already given this unit 5 stars has pretty well summed up most of the same things I’ve experienced with the one I own already. I really wanted to answer a question that some folks have had about the rattle they may feel when the unit is not in use. This little unit actually has a quite powerful image stabilizer mechanism. The loose part that you feel is actually a gyro counterweight swinging freely when not in use. It’s definitely not broken. You won’t hear it actually “rattling”, rather you will simply feel something wobbling in there. Not a defect in any way. That is definitely an attribute of the image stabilizer mechanism. No doubt. As for my faith in the quality and reliability of this Nikon Coolshot Pro 2 Stabilized?? Tomorrow I’ll be delivered another one I just bought here as a gift because it really is the best range finder I have ever owned. I’ve had a few brands/models and that image stabilization is a dang game changer. Seriously. I couldn’t give a higher recommendation for a rangefinder for out on the golf course. Besides the lack of a magnet (a magnet on the actual case of the unit would effext the image stabilizer so a padded magnetic Velcro strap would work fine), this thing is literally perfect for its intended task.

Great optics and stabilization that works
Rangefinders have gotten to the point now where you can get very good ones without spending a lot of money. I've tried a bunch and they are all pretty much the same from an accuracy standpoint. What makes this Nikon stand out (and worth the higher price) is: 1) super clear optics, good field of view, and good eye relief (matters if wearing eye glasses or sunglasses) 2) stabilization is quick and effective. Other 6x rangefinders I have used are harder for me to pinpoint a flag 3) fast readout... yardage can be continuously scanned, but even in single shot mode, it's among the fastest I've seen 4) actual replaceable battery. Battery life is outstanding, but when it's done, you can just swap a new one. A lot of other high-feature rangefinders have built-in rechargeable batteries, which I don't think is as good 5) high contrast display/graphics Overall, my favorite rangefinder.

Seems to miss the pins
I like this product, but I have had problems with it picking up distances behind flags and not the actual flags. In several instances, it gave me the "pin lock" indication that was 25-100 yards off!!! it appears that the pin lock selects branches of trees in the background over the actual pins. I've had to target the ground next to the pin to get distances which doesn't work going uphill. The image stabilization feature is awesome. I find the lack of magnets annoying. It takes up valuable beer space because it lives in the cart cupholder during a round of golf. The Bushnell is far more convenient there. Likewise, the Bushnell magnets make it convenient to pick up off the ground with a club head. I really want to like this product more than I do. A GPS is probably a better tool and cheaper too. I would only buy this after I have a good gps.

Stops my shaking hands!
I put off buying a range finder for decades because they were too expensive, my hands shake, and my phone app was free. This is an excellent range finder for my shaking hands. I can target the flag, then flag stick, then trap lip, then front edge all in one 5 second view and 5 clicks. Accurate to a yard based on comparing to other golfers' apps, range finders, fairway sprinklers, etc. And I really like the press and hold targeting when I've got tree limbs and background targets in the way. Wait for the Green blinking circle and you know you've got it. No different than my old flight targeting systems when I was flying for AF. After 6 months and 20 rounds, the battery is still going. Recommend to all with old hands. You still may want to rest the eye piece on your sunglasses for perfect stabilization.

This product is amazing. The stabilization was the big reason I went with the Nikon on the high end range finder. For me this is upgrading from an off brand one that seems to have started giving iff distances and how i shake unfortunately difficult to lock on anything. This is a massive game changer for me. This has been so quick and right on - truly an amazing product if you struggle with locking on…and the optics are 10/10 with the picture you get in the unit. I did want to tell people yes, it will shake when you take it out if the package but THAT IS THE STABILIZATION. It activates when you turn the unit on so if you shake the hell out of the thing before you could ruin the stabilization. Just remember the lens is suspended in the unit and thats how a stabilization feature works. The case in ny opinion could be better, its pretty good but a hard case with a magnet would be awesome!

The stability on this range finder is second to none. Super clear down the scope with slope adjustment and easy lock on which makes it fast to scope the pin. Only draw back is no magnet and not sure if the battery is rechargeable. But happy overall
