Used this ABB junction box to split a garden power feed for an outdoor light and a hot tub. Living in Scotland, I needed something truly weather-proof that could handle constant rain, frost and big temperature swings. The Europa-series box felt over-engineered in the best way—solid thermoplastic, easy to drill, and the clip-on lid seals tight without fuss. The size is good for a simple connection like mine. I mounted it to a fence post and checked it a few weeks later: still completely dry inside despite heavy rain. The included glands made sealing and routing the cables simple, and the build quality feels far above the usual DIY options. For anyone planning outdoor electrics, I hope this helps you pick something that saves you re-doing the job later—this one just works. The clip on lid is great, no messing about with 4 screws that seem to go missing, won't align or have some obscure size ph/pz drive. It is very waterproof, so if you are using it as an outside wall mount for eg. external lighting, then drill a small drain hole to avoid condensation build up. There are no 20mm precut holes, all are 22?mm so check gland thread diameter before ordering. Mounting points inside can accommodate din rail or connector blocks and the (supplied) grommets are a good fit. I bought this for the external solar panel connections on my leisure van roof. Installed a 25mm 2pin ip55 socket (with a waterproof cover) into the side of the item, the plug onto the supply cable, and now the cover hides in the box if I ever need to remove the panel I can seal the socket against water ingress by just unclipping the lid. Good product very adaptable and good value for money

Used to install a new outside light. Easy to fit with plenty of space on the box for wiring. Due to the design of the wiring holes this is not completely waterproof, but good enough if you fit your cables downwards from the box and don't trim off too much of the protruding fitment hole.

Price is right, great quality, easy assembly

I bought this for a project and ended up not needing it in the end, however for the quality and price it'll do very nicely to put in a drawer until the next time I need something similar. It's a nice sturdy box with plenty of space inside. The glands/grommets over the 6 cable entry points on the sides are quite firm, but still plenty flexible enough to let you get cable through and maintain a decent seal around it. The lid is clip-on rather than screw-on so you can gain quick and easy access to whatever you've put inside. Overall I think it's a nice junction box and, at the price, worth the full 5 stars :-)

Suitable for indoors but wouldn't use it outdoors as there are no seals on the clip on lid.

Used for fitting some cables from CCTV cameras and waterproofing them. They do the job no problem, with some weather resistance at least. Power and network cables will fit the box fine, with some extra room. It's simple to install, not too big, and looks tidy.
