Solid case with plenty of room
We just received our Plano Airliner telescopic rod carrier for our impending trip to Central America. I easily packed in 3 80” rods and a cardboard tube of rolled up maritime charts. There was plenty of space for all with room to spare and the cushioning in both end cups was well appreciated. The weight was fine, the design very secure and the shell provides robust protection for the gear inside. The handle is well positioned for good balance and the clips provided work well - will easily fit a padlock if preferred. I would happily recommend this case and don’t have any design improvements to suggest. This is pretty much a military grade rig and very affordable. Will last a long time and many trips to Central America!

excellent product.
Very well made product. Traveled on airline with seven rods. The holder protected the rods well with no damage. Thick plastic with solid pins to adjust size. Fits 7 ft rods no problem. Would recommend. Very pleased

Works for swords… if you can remove the cross.
If you’re flying and have a sword that breaks down so you can remove the cross guard, this is an excellent and affordable alternative to a gun case. The tube seems like it will take a beating in terms of durability and I appreciate that the length is adjustable. I suspect it’ll work wonderfully for its intended use as well. Only downside I’m seeing so far is that it doesn’t come with a strap so you can sling it over your shoulder. If all goes well at the airport, I’ll leave this review as is.

Pretty Solid Case
I picked up this case so I could bring a few fishing rods on vacation as checked luggage. First off, we flew American, and this case fits into their checked luggage dimensional limits, so it flew fine. We brought 4 rods. Don't be confused by AA's fishing gear policy (they allow a full compliment of fly fishing gear (2 rods, reels, landing net, waders) to be checked as a single item), but you can cram as many rods as you want into this case and it will only count as a single checked bag. Aside from the rods I had a couple casting reels, a gallon ziploc of soft plastics and some other random stuff in there. In terms of build quality I have mixed feelings, but mostly positive. On one hand, the plastic is thick and very sturdy. I never had any concerns about my rods getting damaged from crushing/bending of the case. The cribbing makes it very rigid. The pieces of the case are held together by metal pins with a flexible clevis that you have to muscle into place. They're simple and very strong. I thought that was a great feature. I only had a couple issues with the build. There were some sharp edges remaining on the plastic and the protective foam padding in the ends of the tube were poorly placed and difficult to get seated properly. I think the case advertises capacity for rods up to 7' long. I had a couple 7'0" rods in there and length to spare. I think you could get away with longer... 7'3", 7'4"... but don't quote me on that. One thing is that when it's fully extended it doesn't balance well and it's a hassle to lug it through the airport. Either way, for the price I'm pretty happy with this thing. It has some minor issues but it does the job well and seems indestructible

Fits a bunch of poles! Great to take on airplane have used it many times. It looks a bit wanky but great quality all my rods have always been safe.

Worked Great!
I bought this rod case for a trip to Canada and it worked great. The rods are very easy to get in and out of it, it was easy to adjust, and it securely locks. Protected my rods on our 12 drive and 1 hour float plane ride.

I’d ship my rod in this any day!
Any faults other reviewers find are nitpicking! This thing is a tank. It is well worth the money if you’re carrying anything that has value to you. I’m using to travel with kites and I feel confident that they will make it safely. I’m sure rods will stand up fine. Maybe a few rags taped around delicate parts to ease your mind but otherwise a building would have to fall on this carrier before it gave way. Any complaints about adjusting the length are ridiculous and petty. This is a five star product all day long.
