Fun and detailed instructions for painting animals in an atmospheric technique. I love her writing about each animal’s attributes and character. I’m learning to start a painting with my paintbrush and not draw first.

Well illustrated. Inspiring without being overly instructional...less is best encourages experimentation with excellent tips along thr way.

The book was in excellent condition and it is a great reference for watercolorists, especially if one wants to experiment with a new technique. The book arrived in a timely manner.

I love her style of painting. I have purchased several other books of hers and this one did not disappoint. I love animals most of all.

So inspiring. Will be looking at her on line tutorials for video instruction.

It’s a gorgeous book, very inspirational pet portraits in loose watercolor. There are step by step instructions but it helps a lot if you have drawing and or illustration skills because there are no sketches to work from. It also helps a lot if you watch her demonstration videos in her online art school. You don’t need to buy or use a lot of paint to get started but you may end up wanting to buy a few key colors from her Daniel Smith collection. Really love the results Jean gets, she makes it look effortless but it takes a lot of practice and foundational skills to get really good. It can become very expensive very fast practicing on heavy weight paper which you will need to follow along.

Wonderful book! Great author, look for other watercolor books by her. Gives multiple techniques.
