Do not work
My dog actually snapped at me because this leash hurt her as opposed to deterring her from barking and pulling. I know the instructions say to stop pulling before you hurt the dog but there is only one reason this leash is supposed to work, that is by making the dog "uncomfortable". But if your dog is pulling toward a passerby and you are trying to control them this leash will hurt them.

Finally able to enjoy dog walks
This leash is just what I needed. I have two dogs in the 60 pound range and they both pull when walking. It was either give this a try or no longer walk my dogs, because it was so painful to my hands, elbows and shoulders. Not to mention I thought I might fall down, especially when crossing streets. We still walk fast but I have control. It's perfect for my two dogs, and me, after years of not wanting to walk them at all. I don't always give them full rein though, sometimes I shorten the leash per the instructions.
