Why can't my PKMN games connect with this cable?

Make sure both cartridges are the same region and language. GBA PKMN games do not support cross-region trading, so US versions cannot link with Japanese versions. If the regions differ, the connection will fail.

Does it work with the original Gameboy Color?

No. This cable is made for GBA and GBA SP consoles only. For the Gameboy Color you need a GBC link cable.

Why is the plug so tight to insert?

The tight fit is intentional. It keeps a firm connection so you do not lose progress or trade data during play. Press the plug in firmly until it is fully seated.

Which end goes into which console?

The ends are different. Put the game cartridge in the main console and plug the small connector into it, then plug the large connector into the second console.

How long is the cable?

The cable is about 3.9 ft, or 120 cm, long, which is enough for two players sitting side by side.
