I was hesitant to introduce kinetic sand to my 2 year old out of concerns of how messy it would get and whether he would eat it (he treats Playdoh like it is his favorite flavor of the finest ice cream), but to my pleasant surprise, it's not terribly messy if you have them play over a blanket, table or mat, and it can be easily vacuumed up if it does fall on the floor or carpet. It's also not as enticing to eat as Playdoh. I am also a big fan of the way it feels. Forget kids, this stuff is super fun and satisfying to play with for adults as well. This kit had a lot of great tools and the sand has lasted through several instances of playing, although it's a big gray mess now instead of various colors. Perfect activity for rainy days!

I bought a couple of these for my three old niece and four year old cousin. Little piece do break away while using it but it does not stain anything and you can put it back together. It does not dry out and it has little toys for making shapes. I actually got in there and played with them. It is so cool! So much better than play dough!

2 years of use and my boys are still playing with it. All tools have lasted too, nothing broken yet even with rough use from the kids.

Fantastic fun as per usual, our only issue was that one of the sand packets was either overly gluey or improperly mixed so left excessive film on the hands. The value of the amount of sand you get plus the tools is great, though. My only gripe with these sets is that they don’t come with any storage like play-doh or other fun manipulatables. Hours of creative enjoyment for our 8 yr old- and some for me as well. Bonus!

We loved this! It was purchased to give our kids stuff to fidget with when doing schoolwork or when bored. It can be slightly messy, but it's to be expected. Ours didnt come with storage, so we put it in generic food storage containers. The colors were vibrant and there was more of each color than I was expecting. My kids actually spent an entire hour mixing small amounts of each color and creating their own favorite colors. Lots of room for creativity, and I will absolutely buy again. Definitely don't try to vaccum it up off of carpet though.

My kids love playing with kinetic sand. This box came with a lot of sand. The tools that come with it add to the fun. I got this on sale and will definitely order again. Kinetic sand is easy to clean up and gives the kids hours of fun :)

As a spectator at youth baseball tournaments every weekend, my biggest fear isn’t sunburn or bugs. My biggest concern is how to keep a 3-year old occupied during long games and even longer breaks between games. Kinetic Sand not only occupies my grandson but draws a crowd of new friends. Even the youth baseball players ask to join the fun while they wait. Kids of all ages love the feel of the sand through their fingers and moms love the portability. It’s good, clean fun!
