When you pull a plastic strip out the battery is activated, and in order for it to stop you need to remove the back cover ( very easy) and remove the battery. The old version was harder and the tail doesn't move** A: I have the old version - harder kitty & the tail doesn't move until I move it which has a wire inside it.
