I have a couple other sizes, and they are fantastic. I was buying some as Xmas gifts. These were grinding and sticking. Absolutely unacceptable at this price. Not sure where the quality control is?

Vollrath Dishers Are The Best! These are professtional food service portion control scoops or "DISHERS" for servers. This is not meant for hard cold items. See the plastic handle? It will snap under pressure. If you are getting it for an ice cream scoop you're getting the wrong thing. You will need something with a sturdy metal handle. I got this information from the company. Be gentle. It will save the scoop and your hands when scooping tons of cookie dough. This is not made for hard cold food. I use these all the time for my soft but cool cookie dough and get perfect sized cookies all the time. The other disher sizes are perfect for filling cupcake or muffin liners, and scooping icing on a cake layer for perfectly even amounts for consistant results. These are for consistant measuring portion control. Hence, the listed size and measurement. I own the whole line and get consistant results for my cupcakes, cookies, fillings, homemade meatballs and my plate portions (when I'm dieting from eating too many of my cakes, cookies, etc...lol) These are professional items. I don't belive they have a lifetime warranty except for commercial food service operations. TOOO MANY PEOPLE DONT USE THESE CORRECTLY AND THEN COMPLAIN WHEN THEY BREAK! USE THE RIGHT TOOL FOR THE JOB! THEY ARE EXCELLENT AND HAVE LASTED ME FOR YEARS. I give these as gifts for friend who love to bake. My sister got these for food portion control. THE BLACK HANDLED 30 IS THE RIGHT SIZE FOR MY COOKIES. Have Fun.
