The MV-90 can handle misalignments up to 3 inches from center to center. The more accurately you line up the MV-90 with the vent on the back of your dryer, the better the vent path and the further back you can locate your dryer. Normally, the MV-90 requires 5 1/2 inches of clearance behind the dryer. If an obstruction necessitates you locate the MV-90 at the maximum 3 inch offset, then your dryer will need to sit out an additional 3 inches to allow for a bend radius in the transition duct. Same wall offsets greater than 9 inches: Simply mount the MV-90 directly behind your dryer, plug the 90 degree elbow into the wall vent, and measure for the required length of rigid metal pipe between them. Make sure to measure from where the pipe will stop on the MV-90 to the stop on the male end of the rigid metal pipe. Close vent offsets between dryer and wall vent located on same wall as dryer (Offsets between 0-3 inches): If your same wall offset is between 0 and 3 inches, then the MV-180 is the product for you. Also, trying to check it, involved many attempts to see it with my phone on the end of a selfie stick (bought for this task). This brilliant MagVent connector arrived today, just over 2 weeks since I ordered, so shipping time was great too. I fitted it straight away without any problems. It was straightforward and as long as the receiving magnetic part is aligned correctly with the hose part, it connects just fine. There is even room for slight misalignment as the hose is slightly flexible. I’m over the moon with the MagVent. I no longer need to worry if my dryer connection has become loose and now I can move the dryer, to clean behind it, as often as I like, without the hassle of trying to line up a loose plastic vent. Just a quick check, required only the once, and I know that my dryer vent connection is secure. This innovative magnetic design is a Godsend! Here's a company willing to put out a proper product, for a very reasonable price! The chore of cleaning a dryer duct is not a very exciting one, to say the least AND if put off for too long, it can lead to a dangerous scenario. So this product is quite an essential one. The overall design and quality of the parts are great and are very well crafted. The fit and finish with all the different components were nice. Everything went together perfectly. Installation was very straightforward despite never having even glanced at the included instructions (not recommended for everyone). I would highly recommend this product to everyone for who it would work for. Before writing this review, I had glanced over the lower end ratings for the unit. One needs to take into consideration of the layout of the product. It is not space saving, not in the least bit ( it's putting a 4" duct in typically a 3-1/2" wall ). But as far as making a solid and secure connection from the machine to the duct, it's fantastic. It worked out great for me and I am looking forward to many years of reliable service. As to not make it out to be totally perfect and have some sort of constructive criticism or input, I would like to see some sort of "gasket" for the two mating surfaces. May not need it, but I had to say something. As a person who rarely writes reviews for products, I wrote one for this company for the simple fact that they asked!
