We have these in our front door and back door that leads to our pool. They are fantastic and give me great peace of mind that my toddler can’t slip out now that he can reach the door knobs and work locks. They are easy to install, sturdy enough to handle adults opening doors but forgetting to remove the latch, and latch and unlatch quickly and easily. I’ve recommended these to friends and will likely buy for other doors.

This is extremely helpful as I have cats and a toddler and I need them to be able to get through somewhere where he cannot go. It’s really nice to have something. That’s so easy to open and yet so durable. I do think it is overpriced however there’s nothing else that compares to it.

Ordered this to keep my cats from opening my bedroom door and leaving it open.

So I was so upset when I got it and put it on like int the picture because even the smallest push would pull the door piece off. So I installed the door piece on the inside of the door and twisted the rope and latched it to the opposite side of the doors frame and boom! Now it holds fast. I’m sure I’d break the plastic before it would lose grip again. Cons is I cannot shut the door when it is like this due to the rope coming from the inside out but I really need my toddler to not get in my pantry.

I don’t usually write reviews but this little contraption is amazing. I needed it to stop my utility door from opening from time to time for no reason and my cat could get in there by the furnace and I worried about her. This keeps the door from opening more than I want, which in my case was just a crack. You can shorten or lengthen it as much as you want to let the door open and the adhesion is perfect. It’s a little miracle worker and so much more attractive than an exterior outside bolt. Love it. Don’t hesitate to buy it whether as a cat door or in my case to keep the cat out!

Functional, easy to install, your husband will break it, buy two. Long story short, he didn't realize it was latched, we have a jack and Jill bathroom, he has ridiculous grip strength... Just do the second install method haha!!! You can see in my picture below of the last install.

We put this on the outside of a bedroom door, following all installation instructions. Didn't use it for about 48 hours, per instructions, to give it time to set after installation. Easy enough to install and use. However upon first use, our toddler yanked on the door to open it, and the plastic clip of the door buddy immediately flipped our of the clip. We realized that it also broke a little bit. Now it is basically not usable, as the plastic clip easily flips out of the holder if the door is jostled. Wouldn't recommend for keeping persistent toddlers out of a room.

I love the idea of this door buddy and how well it works. I have 3 strictly indoor cats and a dog -- which means multiple litterboxes containing enticing dog "treats." I bought 2 of these door buddies back in February and was very happy with how they work, giving the cats access to the rooms with with the litter boxes while keeping the dog out of those rooms. I'm only giving 2 stars for adhesion, because I just had to order a replacement, after 4 months stuck to my bedroom door, I found the strap hanging down -- the adhesive had pulled the paint off my door. Maybe this is really a problem with a vinyl door with latex paint. Perhaps the paint is just not well adhered to my door? I plan to sand the spot where I want the door buddy to stick to give the door little "tooth," then repaint that spot and let the paint dry super well before sticking the door buddy back on there... Over all 5 stars for this product but the adhesive is maybe a bit too aggressive?
