I give almost everything five stars because if it works as intended and gives me no problem, it’s five stars. But if I could give this zero stars, I would. I’ve owned it for a few years, but in all honesty, I don’t often use it because I don’t cook in my Dutch oven that often. I mainly use the cast-iron and metal cooking utensils. So I’ve used this item I swear probably less than 30 times in the last two years that I’ve owned it. I will admit that all those times I probably did put it in the dishwasher and maybe only hand washed it once or twice. But that’s why I bought it, so that I can use it on a Le Creuset Dutch oven and so that I can wash it in the dishwasher. Anyways, about 10 uses in it started separating the red from the black. Just an edge. I always put it back together and I would be annoyed, but I would suck it up. And then it became half of the red part would separate. And just today the whole thing fell off. I’ve been trying to piece it back together, but it does not piece back together. Tried several times… looks like it’s almost pieced together and then it falls off really fast. Call me crazy, but I think if I’m gonna spent lots of money on a high-quality product with a well-known name, it should last better than other tools that I have that are about 20 years older that I use probably even more frequently that are not even a name brand. So yes, I believe that if I’m gonna pay more money, I should get a relatively decent quality of item that doesn’t easily fall apart with standard gentle use. I guess I will give it a one star instead of a zero star just because I really did like how flexible that red tip was when you’re trying to gather the last bits of soup from the Dutch oven. It worked really well in those corners until it stopped working.

Looking for a silicone ladle that will last - I'm very pleased with this purchase. Pros: +Handle and base of ladle feel sturdy and can handle a hearty stew with ease. The whole ladle feels very durable and I expect it to last a long time. +The silicone, flexible end of the ladle cup is ingenious and so functional when scooping up those last bits on the bottom of a pot. To make clear: most of the scoop is rigid plastic, but the outer third or so (the red part) is a flexible silicone. So helpful! +I like the shape and ribbing of the handle as it is easy to grip and hold. +Size of the ladle scoop is perfect for my purposes of scooping soups and stews. Don't expect one scoop to fill a giant bowl though! +Glad there is a hole in the end of the handle for hanging. Cons: -Personal preference, but I would love a solid color option, like all black. The red and black isn't too much though. Overall, I'm very pleased with this purchase and would recommend this ladle to anyone looking for a mid-sized ladle who would benefit from the handiness of the silicone edge!

This ladle is amazing. It really does flex to get in all corners of the pot. Would definitely recommend this. Well done le crueset!

We aren't some ladle snobs or anything - we were just looking for something that's dishwasher safe, won't damage non-stick pots, and fulfills its basic function without dripping all over the place. Should be easy, right? Well... as it turns out, it really isn't. We tried multiple brands and this is the first one we're happy with. This ladle is very good when it comes to getting everything out of the cooking pot, doesn't drip on the way to the storage container, and it's been fine so far after many dishwasher cycles. The downside is that it does cost 2 to 3 times of the other ladles, but at least I don't have to shake the water out of it after a dishwasher cycle or wipe up a trail of drops after I serve some soup.

This ladle squishes at the bottom to scoop up the last drop. Love it!
