Makes nails super shiny.
It does the job that it's intended to do. Your nails will shine like glass. The one slight negative is that, since it's glass and is not flexible, small parts of your nail surface that might be a little depressed won't get buffed by the file. But, the nail surface that does get buffed is much smoother and shinier than you get with the disposable nail buffing emory boards. You also don't have to use three or four different steps to make them shine, like you do with those boards. For those of looking for regular glass files, to shape your nails, this is not the file for you. These are strictly for buffing the surface of your nails, not for shaping. Although this file has a more coarse file on one half of this nano file, it really isn't that much more coarse than the fine side. You may get a little bit of shaping out of it, but it's not really for doing much shaping. It's more like a tool for finishing off the end of the nail, after you use a regular file, to make the ends of your nails feel smoother than a regular file would leave it. UPDATE 5 stars for the upgraded nano file. I purchased the upgraded nano glass file and this file is even better. It has two coarseness sides (actually they're side by side, on one side of the file. The other side is smooth glass). The coarser half (underneath the Mr. Green name) is coarse enough to shape the nail, but you can also use it to smooth the surface as well. The depressed areas of your nail surface can be smoothed over by using this part and it still leaves your nail smooth and shiny, but you can also use it to file down the edges of your nails. You can then use the finer half to buff the surface of the nail, but honestly, the coarse half still leaves it so shiny, that you may not even want to bother. All in all, it does a great job, much better than those throw away nail buffers. Over the long term, it will save you money, because you don't need to constantly buy new, disposable buffers. This one should last for years. It appears to be very strong, as well.

"MR. GREEN" consistently sells Great Products
Extremely well designed and built stainless steel file for finger nails as well as toenails. Has two sides of different specified grit. One coarse side for shaping and the finer side for smoothing/polishing. Gifted this to my wife to carry in her purse with included leather sheaf. Owning other products by this company: I am impressed with the quality of "MR. GREEN" products.

Extremely Sharp – Great for Toenails, But Use with Caution
Extremely Sharp – Great for Toenails, But Use with Caution After nicking my fingers a couple of times, I now use this tool exclusively for my toes. It’s very sharp—too harsh for fingernails in my opinion—but perfect for tougher toenails. I really like the sturdy case, and the tool itself feels solid and well-made. I’ve even used it to gently sand off dead skin from my big toes (don’t judge! 😄), and it worked surprisingly well. If you’re looking to shorten long nails quickly, this will grind through them in seconds—just be very careful while using it!

Works Great for Gunpla
I don't use this for my nails (though I'm sure it would work well). I use it to remove nubs from plastic model kits, particularly gunpla and other mecha type kits. The dual grit level is great, jus make sure you have a brush or some tape handy to clean it as you use it or it will diminish the performance. It is easy to grip and manipulate, but tight spots aren't within its capability. For flat and even curved spots it works quite well. It didn't come with a storage container per se, but you can use the original box, as it is pretty robust.

Truly game-changing
This is the first glass nail file/buffer I've tried and wow: It's amazing! And it's a pretty sweet deal considering that it includes a protective cork holder. It works on the nail edges and on the surface to remove ridges, buff, and polish the nail to a glass-like shine, in just a few minutes for all nails. The pictures I've attached are of the Mr. Green file next to another glass nail file (Mont Bleu). The Mont Bleu file is etched on both sides in a completely different way (more similar to traditional files); doesn't double as a nail-surface tool (unless you want a super-rough nail surface); is about half as thick; comes in a thin, non-protective plastic case, and comes from Czechoslovakia rather than directly from Amazon, with a steep shipping charge and requires signature upon delivery. With the Mr. Green file, in a few swipes I got a gleaming finish on each nail surface, and with a few more I sculpted the ends of the nails in a way that sealed them to help keep them from developing chips and cracks. My nails look fantastic and feel far healthier and harder. The file did produce dust that seemed like more than just nail material, so I take it that part of the dust may be glass. In researching glass files, I learned they eventually wear out but should last at least a year. Other sources say they last forever. The Mr. Green file is etched on one side only. The other side is rounded and smooth. However, this makes the file thicker and less prone to breaking than most others. I suppose a nano glass file with both sides etched might last longer than this one (if it doesn't break); it's a tradeoff. The etched side of the file seems quite coarse, but that doesn't seem to matter; it gives a much smoother and more durable finish than my beloved Zen-on superfine metal nail file (which I bought decades ago at a guitar store and can no longer find). I was curious about why this is the case, so I read up more on glass/crystal nail files and learned that they fuse the keratin and help keep nails from cracking or chipping. The Mr. Green file fits very snugly in the cork holder, which seems protective. I might suggest making the container narrower, though, to make it more easily portable. So, goodbye, four-step, few-use buffers: You always disappoint. You wear out after several uses, take much longer per nail, and leave nail edges prone to developing tiny chips and catching or splitting in a matter of hours. Note: This file is not well suited to cuticle care, so I hope Mr. Green comes out with a round glass cuticle tool. I'll try to remember to update this review after using the file for six months or so to report on longevity.

Why buy disposable boards?
I've used this nail file for almost 3 years now, and it's still as effective as day one. I will say that I rarely, if ever, use the "fine" side of the file, but it's great! The nice little case makes it easy to locate my file. Saved money over the years.
