This works well when storing knives that have been recently used. Dry blade, then apply small amount of oil and spread over the blade thinly. For daily use, look for a small bottle with wide mouth, put a piece of old t-shirt material in the neck, and allow the oil to soak into the fabric. Then you can draw the blade over the oil soaked fabric to apply to the blade. Works best with 100% cotton t-shirt material. There is not much oil, but it needs little to do its job, and is best applied very thinly. In normal kitchen use, this bottle should last several years, for a commercial kitchen or butcher shop, this volume may last considerably less as the number of blades is higher. The rust remover stone is a coarse stone that will quickly remove the rust, but will also scratch most blades. This is better than using a chemical de-rusting product, as those may leave pits behind to make the knives a constant problem. The stone is small, and soft enough to wear quickly, if this product was purchased for the stone, only, I would look elsewhere for a larger stone. For rare to occasional use, this is a good sized stone. NOT FOR MUSEUM QUALITY RESTORATION of blades, it will reduce metal very quickly. I have no way to guess "grit size" but it leaves significant scratches on the blade where used. NOTE: bottle is not adequate for field use, too weak to hold up in pack. The bottle is thin and very flexible. So for field use, I would soak some t-shirt material and put the damp material into a zipper closing freezer storage bag, and pack that instead. For extended trips, I would take a 4 x 4 inch (10cm x 10cm) piece with me for as long as several months. The fabric will get "dirty" from the metal of the blade after sharpening, but it will still protect the blade from rusting. (Not really necessary for stainless steels, but, for high carbon blades or blades sandwiched with high carbon steels, this is an excellent product to prevent rusting.)

Muy buen producto, la goma gris (grande) es más suave y es mantenimiento general o piezas de acero delicado como acero azul... la goma verde (chica) es más firme para una limpieza más profunda. Una gota de aceite por cada cara de tu pieza y perfecto.
