What are the Wheels made of?

The front wheels are all steel: 2-1/2" diameter by 1-1/2" wide on a solid axle. Rear wheels are all steel swivel casters approximately1-5/8" diameter. Very sturdy. This is a great jack!

Jack just arrived. A black plastic lock on top of the socket handle prevents it from pumping up/down. How do I go about it?

That black plastic chock takes the place of the wire that Arcan (and many other manufacturers) used to secure the handle base in the down position (flatter) while the jack is in its box. It can be removed with a standard screwdriver by simply prying it out. Save it in case you need to rebox your jack at any point.

Is there much difference between the hybrid alum/steel ($250) vs the all aluminum jack ($300)?

The major difference is the weight. The Hybrid Aluminum/Steel weighs 62.39lbs. The all Aluminum weighs 52.91 lbs.

Can you recommend jack stands for a 2006 G6

Your question is very vague. I have used this jack for a year or two and it works great. Who knows what a G6 even is? I use it for my Porsches.
